Women's GFA action

Postby stroud green » Tue Nov 18, 2014 9:50 pm

Mixed fortunes for our teams at the weekend in the GFA trophy.

The reserves put up a battling display to hold Cheltenham Town Ladies to a goal less 1st half, but unfortunately ending up on the wrong end of a 3 nil score line. A huge well done to them.

The 1st team faired rather better. Comfortably easing through to the quarter finals with a 10-0 win against Almondsbury. Goals from Charlotte King(2), Sarah Stacey(2), Ellie Olds(2), Sammy Hallsworth, Jodie Shepherd, Naomi Marshall and a Kirsty Richardson penalty.

The 1st have been drawn away to Downend Flyers in the quarter finals to be played on 15/2/15.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
