WOMEN’S FA CUP
1st ROUND
Sunday 7TH December 2014
FOREST GREEN ROVERS LFC – 2
SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS LFC - 0
A much improved performance saw Rover’s ladies go into Monday’s draw for the 2nd round of the FA cup.
Starting well it was not long before Charlotte King’s speculative cross shot ended up nestling in the far corner for a deserved early lead. This was followed up soon after with Naomi Marshall going on a mazy run, and setting up King for her ‘s and the home team’s second goal.
The second half was much the same with Forest Green having the lion’s share of possession, but being unable to add to their tally, and the visitors striking the post with a rare foray into the opposition’s half, but the final whistle brought a well earned win for Rovers, and hopefully a favourable draw in the next round.
