We slipped away from the top with a defeat and a draw in September, but we're back in 1st again, this time 2 points clear.

I'm feeling more confident now, as the last month has shown we can bounce back after a defeat, we can adapt our play to the opposition and the squad look even stronger with a rejuvenated Fabien Robert and a great new signing in Dan Wishart.

Can we pull away with arguably two easier matches to come before the BIG ONE against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Another very successful month - still 1st, 18 matches played, 4 point gap with a superior goal difference to our rivals.

A win against Aldershot and we would be 7points clear, very welcome with Macc, Lincoln and Tranmere up next

Two games ( BIG ones) before the mid point of the season....we are still 1st and favourites but I wonder how many we will lose? On the law of averages 6 or 7.

More than 7, with 5 rivals ready to overhaul us and our title challenge is in doubt

1 Forest Green Rovers 21.........23.............46
2 Lincoln City.............. 20..........21............ 40
3 Tranmere Rovers.... 20..........15............ 40
4 Dag & Red............... 20..........12............ 39
5 Barrow..................... 20..........14............ 38
6 Dover Athletic........ 20............6.............37

So whose looking favourite for this prediction? (games lost )

So end of November, half way through the league programme (23 games)

We are 1st ( losing 4) but our main rivals have a game in hand - if Lincoln and Barrow win their game they will leapfrog us. Tranmere would need to win by more than 5 goals to overtake us.

November has been a tough month, losing twice and teams biting at our heels.

So repeat this form over the next 23 games and in will be touch and go whether we will be champions - best predictions are looking like chopsy, stanman and greenjohn

Sorry Fartvs Antiqvvs, your prediction is prediction history!

So we're down to 3rd having lost 4

Lincoln and Tranmere (played a game more) are above us and Barrow will be as well, if they win their game in hand.

Lincoln and Barrow are still in the F.A.Cup, it remains to be seen whether this will give them momentum or prove to be a distraction from the league.

We have strengthened our squad so the second half of the season should promise at least as many points as the first. 100 points should win the league.

Cheltenham won last year's National League with 101 points, we were 2nd on 89 and Braintree 3rd on 81.

I don't think it's likely to be a 2 horse race with us, Tranmere, Lincoln and Barrow looking strong, Dover, Dagenham and Macclesfield not far behind.

Let's hope the mid season break has recharged all the players' batteries.

Still in 3rd having lost 5. Lincoln are clearly favourites for the title, but Daggers, Rovers and Tranny aren't far behind. The Imps do have momentum with their cup runs, a game in hand and the best goal difference. There are 15 games to go and a lot can happen.

Aldershot and Barrow are hovering under the top 5, but I can't see either challenging the top 4.

1 Lincoln City...................... 30 20 4 6 61 31 +30 64
2 Dagenham & Redbridge 31 19 4 8 56 34 +22 61
3 Forest Green Rovers...... 31 17 9 5 63 36 +27 60
4 Tranmere Rovers............ 30 17 6 7 43 26 +17 57
5 Dover Athletic................. 31 16 5 10 62 47 +15 53

Barrow back in 5th after midweek win against Macclesfield.

Looking better, we're 2nd having lost 6

Those predicting 2nd are:

2 (6) smertens
2 (7) Timb, John Whiffen
2 (8) Greenjohn, Stanman
2 (9) Tommo, Sparky

Looking at the competition around us, 2nd is looking a distinct possibility, but as our manager says, 'lots of twists and turns to come'

If we don't lose any more we could be champions, if we lose 3 more I think we'll drop to 3rd or 4th.

3rd now and that final position looks most likely....but we could slip further down the table

3(9) Greeners Jnr,Linfield
4 (9) Redunited
5 (9) Theoperator

We've already lost 9, so the tie breaker looks unlikely to be a decider

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
