10 games 20 goals

Impressive and there is no reason to believe the goals won't keep flowing.

Around a fifth of the games played ( 46 league and 3/4 cups) so we are looking at the upper 90s for the season which means a return to the late noughties (2008 and 2009) when we almost scored a 100 each season. Happy Days

16 games, 30 goals

The team is continuing to score goals at a better rate than any other in the division, even though as yet we don't have two preferred front men. Of course it could be argued, as at Sutton, if the passes in the final third were more incisive even more goals would have been scored.

So if we look to another 32-34 games ( 31 league and 1-3 in the Trophy) we are looking at a goal total in the 90s.

99 Theoperator
98 chopsy
97 john whiffen
96 urban spaceman
95 old tom cat, Silver Surfer
93 redunited
92 smartens, Greenjohn,
90 roy of the rovers

Of course there's plenty of time for it to dip into the 80s or rise to over the magic 100! However I do think Freddy on 73 and simba on 123 are unduly pessimistic/optimistic!

23 league and 1 F.A.Cup match played

43 goals scored

So we're looking at the upper 80s with 23 league and Trophy matches to go

90 roy of the rovers
89 onlineracingclub
88 greeners Jnr, linfield
87 tewkesbury green
85 kennysarmy
80 foggy

54 scored at just under 2 per game

We have at least 21 more matches, so we are looking at a total in the 90's, especially if we keep scoring as we have over the festive period.

59scored, at least 20 more matches to play

Those predicting up around the 100 goals could be right

108 stanman
106 voodoo bluesman
105 candy
103 Fartvs
102 Greeners
101 Titch
100 pitchfork
99 Theoperator
98 chopsy
97 john whiffen
96 urban spaceman

end of January 66 have been scored

So we have already surpassed the goals totals for 2010 and 2011, one more and we'll equal that of 2012

Last season 2016, saw us score 73....hopefully by the end of February we'll have overtaken that

So we're now on 73, same as we scored by the end of last season, in 2013...and Freddy predicted for this season!!

13 games to go, looks like we have every chance of being the National League's top scorers and getting near to that elusive 100 goal marker (99 in 2008)

However our defence needs to be better if we are to be the most feared play off team and still have a chance of topping the table.

82 scored 9 games left

That 100 goals for the season is looking very possible! It's worth looking again at the past season's totals - only in 08 & 09 did we score as often as this season, but under Jim Harvey our defence was also leaky..

2008 99 ( Tommo predicted 101,andyp 98)
2009 97 ( Tommo was closest with 85)
2010 58 ( a lean year, but Greenjohn and bigsav were spot on)
2011 55 ( another poor year but Freddy and Titch both one out)
2012 67 ( Timb spot on, Titch one out again)
2013 73 ( Foggy and Linfield spot on)
2014 82 ( Greenjohn predicted 85, everyone else predicted higher with all our strikers!)
2015 89 (Titch spot on, John Whiffen and Kevin both one out )
2016 73 (Greenjohn won this for the 3rd time - his 72 was the only prediction under 80)

Three games to go, so hopefully mid nineties by full time at York

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
