Prediction League in Div 2: Players and subs

Postby Pitchfork » Sat May 20, 2017 10:12 am

.Old Tom Cat has kindly agreed to take on the running of this competition that will be into its 11th year. He will run the monthly mini leagues and I will chip in with the others ( top scorer, league position, top 5 etc.) as the season unfolds. I hope we will have similar numbers involved as previous years as Tom will be meticulous in his tabulations and accuracy. Moreover there are lots of new fixtures to pit our forecasting wits against.

. I have agreed to handle the money side for one year to smooth the transition. The prediction league does raise a lot of money -we have sponsored Manny Monthe for 2017-2018 and any excess money will go to the Supporters Club. Subs are £15 for the season. Please hand it to me or leave at FGR reception in an envelope labelled 'Pitchfork' before the season starts.

.Sponsorship is £35 (20,£10,£5 prizes) for the mini leagues. As soon as I have received money your name/sponsorship will turn green
The sponsoring of mini leagues and season long competitions depends on you coming forward - thanks to those who have already done so in rapid time.

. There is still outstanding prize money on this thread - please use it towards subs or tell me where to send it via a PM

That's great - 15 players and 6 sponsors as soon as the season ends

Hopefully by the time of the big kick off, Old Tom Cat will have 30+ players and 12 sponsors

Thanks Freddy, Sparky and Candy - now the fixtures are out, let's have some more participants to encourage Old Tom Cat as he takes over the running of the Prediction League in its 11th year. It's fun, it's competitive, there's prize money and it raised £ for the club.

As old Delia famously shouted amidst her alcoholic haze,

"Where are you? Where are you? Let's be 'avin' you! Come on"

Thanks to all those who have signed up. Hopefully I have it right for those who have left money at the club or paid me or Tomcat personally - you should have turned green above if your £15 (or sponsorship money) has been paid.

With the subs paid or promised to date The Prediction League has sponsored the home kit of Emmanuel Monthe.

Course you can, it's open to all, often get players from the U.S.A.

Just leave the £15 in an envelope at Reception B4 the Barnet game Label it pitchfork with your name inside

The more the merrier.

Leave money in a sealed envelope (with your name inside) at reception addressed to Pitchfork.

Good luck

Please sign me up again - I will try to remember to take money to the club on Thursday afternoon. If not, maybe I'll see Phil or Tom at Brimscombe on Saturday.
Thanks

Guys,
Only a day before first game of season and need your forecasts in before 3 pm Saturday if possible.
I'm more than happy to accept forecasts from those who have not yet paid and who can hand over money to Phil or myself at either next two home matches.
Please join as this is my first season in charge and I want at least to match Phil's regular number of players. I'm still a long way short.
The prize money is well worth winning and the balance goes to the Supporters Club for appropriate distribution.
So please have a go and good luck to all
Thanks

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
