Early Feb, we are 22nd with 29 points, 15 matches remaining.
There has been a debate on other threads about how many points we need to stay in at least 22nd place at the end of the season. Clearly this depends on the results of other teams, especially Barnet, Crewe, Chesterfield and Morecambe, although Grimsby are currently on a nasty slide as well.
7 more wins would almost certainly see safety (50 points), but 5 wins and two draws ( 46 points) may be enough this season.
Thanks to Kentstripe for the tabulation below, recording the points attained by those in 23rd place at the end of the season. In other words the higher of the two teams relegated.
07/8 Mansfield 42
08/09 Chester 37
09/10 Grimsby 44
10/11 Lincoln 47
11/12 Hereford 44
12/13 Barnet 51
13/14 Bristol Rovers 50
14/15 Cheltenham 41
15/16 Dagenham 34
16/17 Hartlepool 46
Working that out, the average points total of the team finishing 23rd over the last 10 years is 44
