Supporters Club Quiz Night - Friday 5th April

There has been healthy advance tickets sales but tickets will be on sale on the night.

Tickets cost £5 per person including food - chilli, baked beans, baked potatoes etc. Cash bar.

All welcome - Supporters Club members & non-members.

Ray Clegg will compere with Keith Weyman as Quiz Master and Sue Clegg as scorer.

Previous quizzes have had 100 to 120 people attend. We are expecting similar numbers this time.

Doors open 6:30pm and the quiz starts at 7:15pm in the Carol Embrey.

Food served at 8:30pm approx.

Form a team with friends or family (kids welcome) or just come along on the evening and join in with others.

As the tables seat about 8 people 'the teams of up to 6 rule' is ignored and people generally join up with whoever is on their table .

The 'no electronic devices or Googling rule' is though observed.

There will be a Raffle - prizes include wine, Easter eggs and a family certificate kindly donated by FGR. Bob Hunt calling out the numbers.

Auction of classic FGR players' shirts including Reece Styche (dark green, no 9, old badge) & signed Jared Hodgkiss (yellow, no 2) generously donated by Simon Fortnam.

A special auction of a signed Carlisle match ball and a signed FGR shirt from that match (16 March 19).

These will be auctioned in memory of Trevor Horsley with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK - Trevor Horsley's chosen charity.

Bob Hunt is the Auctioneer.

'True or False' game & other spot prizes - the much sought after cheap plastic medals.

Please bring some £1 coins.

The emphasis is on fun at these quiz evenings.

If you enjoy quizzes you will love Keith Weyman's quiz, if you don't normally enjoy quizzes you will find this evening a little bit different.

Money raised is shared with FGR Ladies.

Glad you enjoyed it.

Over 100 people attended raising almost £1,000 of which £135 was for Cancer Research UK in memory of Trevor Horsley.
The rest of the money is split between FGR Ladies & the Supporters Club.

Thanks to everybody who attended and those who assisted putting the event on.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
