Brian Fream - Sad News.

BRIAN FREAM

It is with deep sadness this morning that we have been informed that our Supporters Club Chairman – Brian Fream, sadly passed away late yesterday evening (Saturday 22nd August) whilst undergoing an operation at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Brian who was 63 yrs of age had worked tirelessly for the club over many years, raising invaluable financial contributions. He was devoted to the club and every aspect related to the involvement of the Supporters Club, particularly the Club Shop and arranging away day travel packages to follow the team wherever they played and in whatever competition.

His cheery disposition and bouncy character will be missed but none more so within his own family and to Julie and his children we send our sincere condolences.

The club will circulate details of funeral arrangements when these are finalised.

Our prayers are with him, his family and friends today.

Colin Peake
for and on behalf of the Board of Directors

I logged on to look to see if there were more reports from yesterday's game. Who cares now there is this news.

Brian will be sorely missed. His enthusiasm and drive were tremendous. He got so much done.

My condolences to his family who I'm sure will also miss him hugely.

Very sorry to hear this. I attended the last away match at Grey’s last season travelling on the supporters coach. Brain was at his majestic best. Condolences to his family.

Brian and I personally go back to 1970, when he was living in Longlevens/Elmbridge area of Gloucester and we were young boy chaps and drinking in a pub called the Fleece Inn located at the top of Wotton Pitch (London Road) Gloucester. We formed a pub team called Wotton Fleece FC which played in the Gloucester Sunday League. We had plenty of laughs and whilst I was an industrious midfield general, Brian did his utmost duty for the club by running the line.

In 2001 we had a celebration to recognise 30 yrs of the club and all the ex players etc joined me and Brian in a hospitality box et al at the old Lawn, when we played Kettering Town if my memory serves me right.

Brian took a lot of stick from certain quarters at times from fans at FGR for his devotion to the club and every penny raised was hard earned. It is the sort of person he was which all clubs depend on up and down the country and who without them clubs would be no more.

Thanks for your support Brian. You will be missed and if those who follow use your tenacity and drive for the club, then your legacy will be well founded.

I am sure the Supporters Club will make sure your name is never forgotten.

Obviously the club will have a one minutes applause in his memory this coming Saturday at the Wrexham game.

Last time I saw Brian, was him bopping away at the Bee Gees tribute night. His dancing reminded me of his character - enthusiastic, cheerful and bubbly.

My condolences to his family and friends.

He was a stalwart of Forest Green Rovers and a selfless assett to the club. He will be sorely missed.

I didnt always see eye to eye with Brian but always had the utmost respect for what he achieved on behalf of the Club.

A lot of people seem to come and go at a football club but their always seems to be a replacement to step in. Brians loss will leave a massive void at the club. Only time will tell if his boots can ever be filled. A fantastic devotee of FGR. RIP Brian and many thanks for your years of service to the club.

Thanks for welcoming to me FGR Brian. Was it that game of Irish Bingo on the way to Leigh that totally southerned me in 2003 and the scarf I miraculously won, or we’ve only got five minutes at the stop!

Hope the pies go down well at the table, Brian RIP A true Black and White

Oh no. What a huge and very sad loss to club and family

Forest Green will not be the same without the presence of Brian. His commitment and love of the club was second to none.

His last actions for me were to prepare 15 goodie bags for children at the Kettering game and to set up a 'hard copy' option for the Prediction League.....two actions out of thousands he must have carried out to promote the name of FGR and to raise revenue for the club. What a trooper

Brian will be sorely missed but never forgotten. My condolences to his family.
