To be or not to be, that is the question...

Following the merger between the Supporters Club and Supporters Trust, what's the current position?

All sorted?

Are you trying to stir up trouble The Firedoor, you have made several rude comments on other threads, then you make this comment just 21 minutes after the thread is started, what is your problem please?

'To Be'

As most are aware, both organisations voted overwhelmingly to join forces and set up a new unified Supporters' Club.

A steering group has been working to ensure all the preliminaries are in place before official announcements are made.

If the Bard were alive today he would be an FGR supporter!

“To be or not to be (or verily we should all joineth the new enterprise)”

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to amalgamate
The supporters into a wonderful future,
Or to take arms against those who cause trouble,
And by opposing end them? To support: to cheer;
Much more; and by supporting to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That will come, ’’ere the seasons end;
Devoutly to be wish’d. To support, to cheer;
To be promoted: perchance we dream: ay, there’s the rub;
For in that promotion what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off the Conference coil,
Must give us pause: there’s the problem
That makes calamity of a struggle to survive;
For who would bear the loses and scorns of full time,
The opposition is wrong, the proud fan’s contumely,
The pangs of lost favourites, the new style of play,
The insolence of AP’s office and the way he spurns
Finer skills have merit, the high ball is unworthy and cringing makes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a forward pass? Will us fans this philistine approach bear,
To see our heroes grunt and sweat under a weary yoke,
But that the dread of this is nought if we are there at the death,
The undiscover’d country of Division two for which we yearn
To travel into the unknown, the will to strive
Which makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
But we should rejoice in the fans amalgamation
We should all join the new fans club don’t pale at the thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment so as this
With this regard we should the officials praise,
Not lose the name because of inaction.–Cheer you on now!
The fair Magpie! Nymph, in thy birth pangs
Be the new fan club remember’d.
Time is but an illusion - lunchtime doubly so.

Brilliant, more poetry, ive recently cancelled my Pam Ayres membership to join this forum, love it, keep up the good work. Hopefully some positive news will emerge shortly regarding the merger, looking forward to an announcement.

I think it looks really positive. It makes things really inclusive, and it's not just for Season Ticket holders, it's an option for others too.

Nice idea.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
