The new rule of defenders being allowed to receive the goal kick inside their own penalty area may give us less heart-stopping "Gunning" moments this season. Matt Mills did it a lot in the first half and, with the attackers having to remain outside the box until the kick is taken, may be to our advantage...

Made one very good point blank save. Monty however got hands on their goal yet let it dribble over the line a pretty poor attempt. Other than that neither were really tested

Winny got a bit aerated with one of their midfielders, but is was difficult to see why, beyond the other player deliberately winding him up beforehand. "Handbags" was definitely the beat description - even after the ref spoke to them they were still having a go. Good job it was right at the end of the game...

Read a Swindon (Town) fan saying Supermarine were a bit "agricultural" in their "friendly" fixture, perhaps they're going for the robust approach this season and got a bit too much clogging in early.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
