It's not that simple though. If you follow that logic through to the end then, well, basically if its raining or theres a chance of rain; or frost; or snow, then we'd just call the whole thing off.

The rain was intense but it passed, if it didn't then it would have been off.

I couldn't make it today but got as far as Swindon when the crewe game got called off, that's life.

Keep calm and carry on...

Look at the weather on the internet maybe?

Sick of people blaming the club for pitch inspections and abandonments. It’s nothing to do with them - it’s down to the match officials.

The pitch inspection is the responsibility of the match referee, if the club feel that it will be called of early then they used to call in a league referee locally.

As it was the pitch was playable.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
