If we are three at the back (Rawson, Kitching, Stokes) with Dawson and McGinley as wing backs I think this is, as others have said, a reasonable defence given the injuries.

I’m surprised Brown is back ahead of Williams but surely Williams will get some minutes today. I’m glad Thomas another chance - no howlers today please. Also, time for Collins to shine.

So Stokes in the middle of the back 3, interesting. Brown playing behind Aitchison and Collins looks like it has potential to cause problems on the break. 3-5-2 is the formation that suits us best imo.

Don’t expect any mistakes from Thomas tbf, he’s a good keeper. What we need to cut out is the needless give aways in front of the defence, and make sure people mark their men properly from set pieces. Also stop crosses more effectively. Do all that and we can get a result. COYR.

Only 1 of the 5 players brought in January starting today. Interesting has the gamble failed ? Also all efl games seem to be reverse fixtures of opening day of season

Bailey would probably have started too tbf. Hall could be a decent impact sub, at least he tried to get shots off.

Are you sure it’s a 3-5-2 KS
More likely Collins as lone striker with Brown & H supporting as joint 10’s. ???

I suppose it might be a 5-2–2 -1/3-4-3 but for me Aitchison’s pace in behind could be a useful weapon, like for the goal he scored at Grimsby?

Why is everything that you post doubled up, it keeps having to be deleted.

Agree with you about Bailey, I have been impressed with him so far, really unlucky to be out injured...he was the player that was causing Port Vale difficulties on Tuesday evening.

Looks like a 3-4-2-1 to me, but not that balanced.

Would have thought Scoble rather than Dawson but hey, ho. Interesting line-up. Let's see how it goes.
My mileage; yours may vary, of course.....

Yes, proper commentary, makes a big difference, and we've started brightly too. Ebou looks a bit sharper which makes a big difference. Aitch also seems up for it.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
