He was right ,the ref was inconsistent. Their defender lost Frear and tried unsuccessfully to push him into the stand as he went past him and not a word from the ref yet 20 seconds later Adams does an innocuous challenge and gets booked .
Refs always seem worse when you lose.

I like the bit about delivering the ball into Nathan's hands aka shoving it into his chest

Blooming 'eck Ash, there's a lot of Ashley Loveridge's opinions in piece almost as if he were a regular Swindon reporter. ;)

when was the last time a fgr player scored with a leaping header like that ?

i really cannot remember-not even from doidge -who was ok but not great aerially .

fantastic header-i thinking ''loping' does not do it justice-leaping maybe -a fair bit of power in that .
i bet ebou's neck muscles felt it this morning-great goal.

Julian Allsop scored the last ever goal at the Old Lawn with a leaping header against Stevenage. Worth the wait

Doidge against Aldershot in last minute in front of south stand
I think we won 2-1

Alas Swindon don't offer separate total & away numbers.

Wellens has a good point complaining about time wasting at throw ins.
Those around me were none too impressed and we all get infuriated whenever a team adopts those tactics against us.
The player should have quickly thrown to a team mate and have him run to corner flag to frustrate opposition and run the clock down.
Perfectly legal and referee cannot allow extra time for that tactic.

I hate time-wasting. I hate it when other teams do it to us and I hate it when we do it to others (and, yes, that includes Saturday just gone). I think it needs tackling at the very highest levels of the game through new rules and/or instructions to referees.

Seem to remember that those same tactics were employed by FGR at Wembley in the play-off final v Tranmere in the last couple of minutes, and everyone was OK with it. A sure case of its alright when you are winning.

I can remember two Rovers players, one of whom may have been James Norwood, using up the whole of time added on in a game at Kiddy to frustrate their efforts. From memory it involved a series of throw-ins, free-kicks and corners. As a demonstration of how to run the clock down it was a master class.

I remember a home game where KMB and Kurtis Guthrie had a great time for the last few minutes of a game keeping the ball in the corner with little keepie uppie passes to each other.

The 2 - 0 win at home to Stevenage with Teixeira and then Alsop scoring the goals to keep us in the league on goal difference over Tamworth, they had a goal difference of -31 to out -13, both on 38 point.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
