Alex recently contacted me regarding how many appearance he made for FGR and the goals. With his help on some of the seasons he appeared, I was surprised what total he had amassed.

Season Starts Subs Goals

1995-96 ---- 7 ----1 ----- 4
1996-97 ---- 54 --- 4 --- 20
1997-98 ---- 30 ---16 --- 12
1998-99 ---- 46 --- 6 ---- 17
1999-00 ---- 38 ---10 ---- 13
2000-01 ---- 7 --- 1 ----- 2
2001-02 ---- 11 --- 1 ---- 1
2002-03 ---- 34 --- 2 ---- 5
2003-04 ---- 19 --- 11 ---- 3
2004-05 ---- 6 --- 0 ---- 0

252 ----- 52--- 77

Alex has therefore played in 304 games in all competitions scoring 77 goals.

To me one of the best and consistent player to play for Forest Green.

Agreed Heather. A quality winger and great crosser of the ball, with a thunderous shot as well.

He got enticed away to big club nuneaton borough but came back.

He got some good crosses in during the Dover game on the web site.

His first goal for the club was on his debut, when he came on as a sub against Poole Town on the 30th March 1996 in a home 6-0 win. Scorers that day were Moore (2), Callinan (2), Hirons and Sykes.

A huge crowd of 176, how times have changed.

Hear Hear to all the above comments regarding Alex. He also combined well with McGregor, who if I recall, moved to Nuneaton Borough at the same time. Good old days eh !!

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
