Reminds me of the story George Best told when he was in his hotel room, and there was a knock at the door, and room service came in delivering another bottle of champagne. The maid looked up, and there was Miss World in his bed with only a flimsy nightie on, there was over £5000 in notes spread over the floor from the casino winnings, and she turned to George and said, " George, ......where did it all go wrong ?".

He works extremely hard and is very determined. Do not believe the slanderous allegations that have been made. I cannot express how much Keanu wants to be a part of the team.

How can a player be expected to prove himself when he hasn't been given the opportunity, and has been been training with the Youth Team?

I wonder if any of you have actually taken the time to come and talk to Keanu after a match? Or even during the match when he goes to watch & support his team mates at home games. Some of you may take back some of the comments on this post. He 'gets behind the boys', so please get behind Keanu.

100% behind keanu and have told him so on many occasions. When you consider the importance and quality of the goals he has scored for us it's difficult to understand the current position. The supporters don't know what goes on but after a full pre season And now 1 month in is it really likely that he is not in the same condition as the rest of the lads? Sorry but I can't see that.

At the end of the day I just want to see the team win and for me we have a better chance of doing that if kmb is involved. I am not suggesting preferential treatment but a fair chance the same as the rest of the players. We have a number of players who have not performed to their best so far in some games but they still get further chances whereas kmb hasn't had a chance at all.

Is'nt it media day todaY ?

i think last week-the topic of KMB was briefly raised-and briefly answered in media questioning
i wonder if any of our media friends will be brave enough to broach the subject again this week for a bit more clarity/info ?

MC's reaction to any further questioning may say a lot .

I am very much in the pro KMB camp-but must admit-need to be a bit carefu that one does not get carried away with his attributes and that he does not become one of those players who becomes a worlldbeater ,simply by not being picked !!
maybe need a dose of realism

that given-whatever way you look at it-he is better in every aspect -including work ethic-than one or two in the team at moment and another one or two who regularly make the squad.

a couple of posts in this thread expressing a few concerns, but i don't think anyone has said he should not be given any opportunity.
ok-we are not privy to what goes on in training-but surely we can't all be wrong

call for Keanu !!

Ditto. Anyone feeling brave enough for phoning in and politely asking for an update ? ( That's if Mark Cooper is there of course)

It can of course be just players/staff remember, We have two massive games coming up...they're all massive i know..but would just love to see Keanu on the bench again st least for both...I feel a prolonged Keanu-Keanu South Stand chant would be welcome.

Not sure how chanting a players name who isn't involved is going to help the players on the pitch. They are the ones who are going to really need our support if we want to get a result, which surely is the main priority?

I support any player on the pitch for FGR, that will include KMB if he ever plays for us again, but the main thing is the team winning, regardless of who wears the shirt.

I'm with Football Poet. Let's sing his name and show him he is still loved as some inspiration to keep working and believing.

Let's face it it's almost unanimous the squad is stronger with him than without him. We need him back at his best and helping us out.

What message does it send the players? That when players earn our respect and they deliver for us that we stand by and support them. I'd say that's a good message.

What message does it send Cooper? You can't get away with the naughty step this season and to swallow some pride and get the man back in the squad.

As Michael says let's not get carried away and build him up to much, but he certainly warrants his place from what I've witnessed so far.

But you don't hear many Dale Bennett chants. He puts 100% every week without fail, not just in big games and has done for years.

What message does it send out if someone not even playing gets his name sung, whereas a club stalwart who's actually on the pitch busting a gut as usual doesn't.

Quite right.

Let's get a Dale Bennett song / chant as well and sing about both of them.

Imagine the furore if Dale Bennet wasn't picked for the team.

Tweet from Keanu yesterday:
"Lovely dinner and evening tonight with jilly Cooper and JoycIe".

I can't post the tweeted picture though.
Not quite sure what to make of that, if anything. ????
Could they feature in a chapter in "Tackle" !

It should simply be 'You'll never beat Dale Bennett!', like the old chants of 'You'll never beat Des Walker!' 8-)

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
