FGR v Lincoln: match forecast

This is 7th consecutive season that FGR host Lincoln, last season’s National Champions, at TNL in a league match.
During that time FGR have had 3 wins, 2 losses and one draw.
Every game has produced plenty of goals with best a 4-1 home win in 2013/14 and that unfortunate 3-4 loss last season which set the Lincoln bandwagon rolling.
This season Lincoln sit 11th in table with 2 wins, 3 draws and only one loss:
Wycombe [a] 2-2
Morecombe [h] 1-1
Exeter [a] 1-2
Carlisle [h] 4-1
Luton [h] 0-0
Stevenage [a] 2-1

Apart from last season when Lincoln did the double over us, FGR have decent record against them.
So because both teams are so familiar with each other I’m forecasting:
FGR 2-2 Lincoln

2-1 to FGR, players will be hungry after Sat performance or heads are still down and we lose 3-1, who knows, no 2 matches the same up the Rovers. Individual errors must be stopped.

FGR 1 Lincoln 0

I think we'll defend better this time, keep a clean sheet and score in the last five minutes.

I think we'll see an improved performance from last time out, but still not overly optimistic.

I think we need this win. FGR 2-1* on a dramatic night under the floodlights and a much needed lift.

*I'm not sure I believe this. But I need the hope.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
