FGR v Swindon Town: match forecast

Home game to be televised on Sky on Friday against Swindon, one of our local opponents.
In the past many FGR supporters have been season ticket holders at County Ground and still hold soft spot for club where superstar Don Rogers plied his trade down the wing and time when they won the League Cup when it was a more prestigious tournament than European competitions.
Of late Swindon have been having off-field financial problems which has unfortunately impacted upon the playing team despite the club’s massive following.
Still however many believe them to be a sleeping giant and FGR must therefore treat them with utmost respect.

Swindon sit 8th in table, with 4 wins, 3 losses & 1 draw.

Win..........................................Loss................................Draw

Carlisle [a] 2-1 …....................Crawley [h] 0-3 ….........Exeter [h] 1-1
Morecambe [a] 1-0 …............. Barnet [h] 1-4
Luton [a] 3-0 ….......................Notts County [a] 0-1
Stevenage [h] 3-2

Very mixed bag with varying degree of success, both home and away.

FGR on the other hand have still yet to play to their best. We are continuing to make defensive errors that are costing us dearly. But they seem to be getting fewer as the season progresses. Cut them out and Swindon will leave TNL with less than 3 points.

My forecast:
FGR 1-1 Swindon

I interesting analysis OTC, it's helpful the way you have set out the Swindon results - stark contrast between Swindon's 3-0 recent win at one of the promotion favourites Luton, yet losing by the same score in August to strugglers, Crawley.

The game is a huge challenge, my heart rules my head. I suspect my prediction in the prediction league is the more likely score, but I'l just love the score

2-1

Our Sky debut! (In EFL) and it's a biggy to say the least. Don't get carried away by that draw at Port Vale. They are woeful. I'm gonna go for a posistive 2-2 draw
...Because we know Tranmere will come back but it's WOOLERY AT THE OTHER ENNNNNDDDD......GOAL 3-1 to Forest Green

Sadly I'm predicting FGR 1-3 Swindon. It's with great regret, but positive score predictions haven't worked, so going for a change of tack and would love to be wrong on this one.

Swindon win 2-1,but we play well and feel like we should have drawn or even won it.

Florist Green 1 Moonrakers 2

However, if we do improve defensively as we appear to have done, then it could even be 1-1.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
