Cheltenham v FGR in CT Trophy

Postby The Old TomCat » Mon Oct 02, 2017 3:58 pm

Difficult game to predict in this unloved competition.
When we won game against Newport it gave all at TNL hope that it was a stepping stone for better times.
Alas it was our last victory.
Do the two managers use game to give some on the subs bench match practice, or does MC send out his best team hoping for win to re-establish team confidence?
Cheltenham [13th in table] have won three of their last four games and drawn other. They are obviously on a roll and having home advantage probably consider the game is theirs for the taking.
I suspect that with the fierce local rivalry between the two clubs that absorbed Gary Johnson a couple of years ago, he will send out a strong team.
Therefore sadly I have game down as a home win for Cheltenham.

MC has already said that he'll be giving some game time to those usually on the bench.

Incredible 10 pm Monday night and still no info about the match on the website or fbk.I only found out ticket on the gates from CTFC..

Anyway guys I need up to move up the only really important league table (The result prediction league)even if there isn't one for this game.
so 2-1 to FGR (Mullings 2). oh why not?! .

I have a feeling we will take very few....but who knows?.

Prob be used for fringe players. Be interesting to see if he uses Manny as def midfielder like in last round. Might be good to put youngsters like Stevens and Anderson run out. Will not want any 1st teamer injuries.

Manny is out, broke his cheekbone on Friday in training. Anderson is out on loan I think?

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
