'C' Month....

Postby SkunkMan » Mon Oct 16, 2017 3:05 pm

So...November sees us play four teams all beginning with the letter 'C'. All are currently in the bottom half of the table. One is even below us :o

I really think November will be our 'make or break' month. If we can't start winning games, it will be 'C' for Calamity, Catastrophe and Collapse, I fear.

BUT lets hope it is 'C' for Consistency, Confidence and Climbing the table :D

The burning question is - how can essentially the same team play so well against Accrington and Notts County and then so poorly against Newport...?

Great post SkunkMan!

As for the burning question - I haven't got a clue as to the answer.
There is no 'I' in team

I agree with Stanman, great post that made me smile. :D
BTW I think the second set of C's[ 'C' for Consistency, Confidence and Climbing the table] will be the correct one.

We could go for a month of clichés as well. After all it looks like a month of cup finals (sticking with the C's)

Skunkman is right, this will be a big month.

I am hopeful it will be the positive C's. But it certainly feels season defining, with no excuses in games against bottom half teams, especially Chesterfield.

Perhaps Newport are now better than all of them and will move to the head of the table before season end?

They must have had an off day!
I just can't see things changing unfortunately. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Table doesn't settle down until 30 matches.

Maybe the performance in the Notts County match was an aberration.
Your hands-down winner.

worryingly -i keep on agreeing with KG111-lol.

i only saw the notts county game.

it was not played well' as such-but a bit more of what is simply needed at this level.

still second best that day-but as ever-performances do not imo matter an iota.

FGR can keep on improving between now and may-and they probably will-but unless they get points-its irrelevant.

Yeovil game-delighted-got 3 points-0n paper-completely undeserved that day-should have lost that day on 'performance', but so what-it was 3 points.

Hopefully the C will stand for Cooper gone. Awful manager who is leading us straight back into non league football. :(

If November is anything like September and October (so far) then the 'C-word' may be an apt description!

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
