Oh and the Coventry stewards were brilliant, even the Safety Officer Chris O'Neill was very helpful pre match with replying to emails allowing the flags to be put up inside the ground.
Brilliant from such a big club

A bit one-sided these are. Where is our second-half penalty shout? And what about the intruder?

Might be one-sided. I don´t know, because I was neither there nor in any FGR game - so far.

Indeed a great and desperately needed win. But far from convincing. To be honest: at least according to highlights, we were constantly giving the ball easily away, even in danger zones. Coventry could have punished us a few times. That´s why I can´t avoid the feeling, we were riding on our luck through the game.

Fine battled anyway, credit for the players! But to get regularly more wins, we have to play better in all areas of the field.

A win, that's all that matters in the end. Now I don't care if we play well or badly, as I'd rather take a bad win over a well-played loss like Accrington any day.

1. Overall FGR were better side and deserved victory.

2. KMB confirmed my suspicion that ball swerved in flight which obviously unbalanced goalkeeper.
Not so much goalkeeping error but a good shot on target.

3. Charlie Cooper got a good round of genuine applause when he was substituted. The boy done well in game.

Good result but it's forest green so you can expect us to lose on Saturday.

Maybe the league’s minnows have turned a corner and the Saturday debacle was a mere blip.
Maybe, Cooper’s detractors are wrong and this team will give their all for the manager and club. It’s a nice idea and hopefully correct.
The only issues were Coventry having a blip and playing under par and listening to the commentary we rode our luck at times. We still give the ball away too cheaply.
Bob’s a great commentator but not good for the nerves.
It’s a shame the two other basement clubs won but we needed three points to avoid being cast adrift at the bottom.

I wouldn't say we the leagues minnows though.

That would be Accrington, Morcombe and Crawley.

We actually get very respectable support.

I take issue with the Crawley and minnows tag, they represent a town that is an urban sprawl in the shadow of Gatwick airport, it has a population well over 100K...which must make it bigger than many of the other places represented by teams in our division.

Morcombe must be the phantom minnow, as it doesn't exist FGR-Ledge. ;)

Makes it even more of a minnow of a football club then, when you look at their tiny crowds.

A large urban area does not equal a large football club. Remember that.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
