Wow!....those highlight suggest we were up against it and very lucky to win...BUT I assume they deliberately focus on Coventry highlights.

Out of interest anyone know the punishment the pitch invader got (or will get)? Don't know what the average punishment is but i'm sure something like that and based on it being a criminal offence something will happen. Just interested as really important not to be soft on things like this.

I'm over in Buckingham this weekend so maybe I can get over to Stevenage!

Interesting piece. Thanks

Hopefully just an appropriate ban from the club for a bit. That would suffice. It can't be ignored but hopefully don't need to go overboard.

Interesting how some fans view people entering on to the playing surface.

It is a criminal offence and at the time unless I am mistaken, Rovers were in a good position to possibly score a second goal when the referee had to stop the game. Just say that when the game restarted by way of a drop ball, Coventry went down the other end and equalised. Not so funny then or easier to make slight of the incursion.

The offence is there for a reason. And unfortunately happens to be something which some City fans do often under the current circumstances prevailing at the club.

Thank you Footieman. I did think it was a serious offence and I am surprised that the authorities (would it be the EFL?) are not going to do anything about it. But perhaps I speak too soon?

One has only to imagine the damage that could be done if the so-called "fan" had managed to smuggle an offending weapon into the stadium. I could not believe that in this instance the individual was not apprehended at all - he was simply left to his own devices to return to the spectator area in his own time.
Incredible.
I note that the police are involved though. He must also be banned by the Club for a period of time.
This sort of behaviour cannot become the 'norm'. Rant over!

If he had managed to get the ball off of Doidge I would have hoped we would have signed him on loan.

Messi wouldn't have scored from that position. Rather than disadvantage FGR I think the intrusion only served to waste some of what time the hosts had left to equalise, so was counter-productive.

I just can't believe the stewards did so little to curtail it.

I was surprised that none of the stewards did anything. It was left to one of the Coventry players to persuade the fan to leave the pitch. Not funny if he had punched the Coventry player. X

95% of the stewards were with us, only 1 visible on other side of the pitch when idiot features went onto field of play and then he was allowed to climb back over the advertising hoarding before a lady steward apprehended him. He seemed quite happy to be escorted serenely out of the ground to then be interviewed by the local paper to put his point of view ref. the state of Coventry City fc and their ownership. Quite bizarre. The police are looking into it.

To be honest though that could terribly easily happen all along the East Stand at TNL, the stewards wouldn't have a chance of stopping anyone determined. Totally agree he could have had something dangerous etc. he was though I assume frisked before entry to the Ricoh surely? However at TNL and many grounds a person wanting to cause injury to a player or official could easily do it without even entering the ground.

I do Im afraid sympathise with the fan actually, whatever the voice of officialdom above says. Coventry City fans have huge huge cause to be upset, they have seen "their" club atrociously overseen for many years, the whole Ricoh debacle alone is an absolute disgrace let alone the overall management of the rest of the club. Where are the football authorities when dealing with that, or Orient or Charlton (repeat many times)? Far more interested in a harmless fan wandering on, making his point and leaving.

Whilst all is relative sweetness and light for FGR (RELATIVE) it simply isnt the case for many football clubs. The way that the FA have treated fans and dealt with the running of clubs/ TV money making etc etc in so many ways over many years is what has resulted in this fan loosing his cool.

Coming onto the pitch is indeed a criminal offence, so where are the bans and fines for all FGR fans who encroached the pitch after Dover in 2015 or Daggers 2016 play offs...!

I am sure many will disagree but think carefully about their situation and be more understanding of the poor fans frustration at not being listened to.

Just out of interest were you frisked before entering? Usually all I've seen is bag checks.
^he comment about not needing to enter the ground is too true, junior was at Woodley Sports one afternoon when a cross bow bolt was shot into the ground from an adjoining housing estate and only this summer a cricket match at The Oval was abandoned after a crossbow bolt landed close to the square

I just want to say thanks to the players and management. I've had a spring in my step since Tuesday. The world always feels so much better after a good result. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Ha! Coventry fans tweeting that if the Club really want to punish that pitch invader then they should give him a 5-year season ticket

I wonder if the lady who ?table invaded? the snooker during Ronnie O'Sullivan's match is related to the Coventry pitch invader.

I wasn't there, but looking at the match stats....

COVENTRY FGR
60% Possession 40%
22 Total Shots 8
6 On target 3
6 Corners 3

....they seem a fair reflection!

1993 - Coventry City were playing Premier league football. 1993 - Forest Green were losing 6-0 at home to Tiverton Town in the FA Vase. Oh how times have changed. Unbelievable !

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
