FGR support at Coventry

Top League Two away attendances on Tuesday: I'd say our following was very impressive, especially on the heels of a 0-4 defeat, great that the faithful were rewarded with that first away win.

551 - Notts County
353 - Luton
223 - Mansfield
212 - Forest Green
179 - Grimsby
157 - Chesterfield

On the subject of attendances, our home crowds have similarly been far higher than last season. Of course away support at TNL has been strong, but the core home support is now above 1600. If the overall average gate crept towards 2500 we would be comparable with Crawley,Barnet,Morecambe and Accrington Stanley.

Bottom line, home performances need to be far better than last week's display against Newport.

I believe these are upto date figures for the lower end of league two attendances
17
Cheltenham Town 3,059
18
Forest Green Rovers 2,763
19
Yeovil Town 2,669
20
Stevenage 2,464
21
Barnet 2,070
22
Crawley Town 1,956
23
Accrington Stanley 1,860
24
Morecambe 1,452

All I keep hearing is how small of a club we are. We're not exactly getting 350 through the gates are we?

Proof is in the pudding (made with soya milk of course)
...Because we know Tranmere will come back but it's WOOLERY AT THE OTHER ENNNNNDDDD......GOAL 3-1 to Forest Green

I did not sit in the away section at Coventry and therefore not included in the official away support attendance. Would be interesting to note roughly how many not included in the official total.

Interesting post thanks Pitchfork, especially with the nonsense on social media about us taking 29. I think we aren't doing too badly.

The frustrating thing for me about the Coventry game was that it was on a Tuesday evening and I couldn't make it, had it been a Saturday I would definitely have attended and persuaded some Midlands based relatives to come along too. Whilst it was a brilliant turn out I reckon we might have doubled that turn out for a Saturday afternoon game.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
