FGR v Morecambe: match forecast

Postby The Old TomCat » Sun Oct 22, 2017 11:14 am

Following two excellent away wins FGR’s next home game to Morecambe would lift them above the two automatic relegation places. Too early in season to call game a six-pointer but nevertheless it has become a very important match for both clubs.
Morecambe’s current form [6 matches] is 5 points from one win and two draws.
Their current away form is identical with 5 points from one win and two draws.
The game has all the hallmarks of an ‘exciting’ 0-0 draw but I shall be bold and predict:
FGR 4-1 Morecambe

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Stevenage 1-2 FGR

Congrats to 4 of our predictas: Kentstripe, Candy, Earl & Ashley on correctly forecasting the perfect scoreline. They all move up into next higher table and with Kentline only predicta to record 3 perfect scorelines this season.
Also congrats to Greenstripe, Joopman, TwoGuns & Football Poet on forecasting this shock away win.

Hi OTC
Vale at home to Swindon and Barnet away to Accrington on the same day COULD mean a win moving FGR to 20th.

Long journey from Morecambe - hoping they have cramp. And we've turned a corner.
Rovers 3 - Morecambe 0.

Morecambe are on the slide and according to my mate Nick there, were shocking in the defeat to Port Vale. I don't anticipate a romp but I'll go for a comfortable 2 0

Lets hope we get our second win at home this Saturday. Do we find it more difficult in front of our own crowd? I think so.

1 - 2. I might feel differently much closer to kick-off.

FGR 3-1 winners. Lets hope there’s some noise for the boys. Believe it’s kids go free as well, though that may mean going back to south stand for this one!

As I mentioned in another thread and Greeners mentions again here(Sorry Andymac yours might be a bit more than we could hope for  ) if results go our way on Saturday and we can get a home win we climb 3 places up the table, I am sure the team will give all they can on Saturday to achieve their part, let's make sure we do our bit as well, no booing moaning etc just cheering clapping and driving our boys on. Morecambe need to know they are playing 12 men.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
