Club banning fans

Postby Phil_mitchell » Mon Oct 23, 2017 5:46 pm

Cooper wants all fans on board for Saturday with it being such a big game.
Well today the club have killed that when the upheld the ban of a member of the South stand so now on Saturday there will be no singing from the regulars in protest against the ban of one of their own.
This lad makes the atmosphere at home and away his support is needed. His crime was petty as it gets. The club call it moshing Jesus wept it happens every week up and down the country at games. Ban the fans that hurl abuse at their own players not a lad trying to support his club. We need fans like him!!!

Absolute joke!!

I really do despair at some of the people we have running this club!!

They say they want us to get behind the club, and they act like this!!

Really stupid decision, how long is the ban for Mike? Should not be any ban at all though.

Every time I start to feel things are getting better, the idiots at this club do something like this! What was his massive crime for goodness sake!!

It really is a shame he is a top lad and has the club at heart and has still travelled the length of the country since this decision has been made.
Since his ban we have had 5 games
Accrington at home lost 1-0 awful atmosphere (no Jordy)

Notts Away drew 1-1 great performance and atmosphere (Jordy was present)

Newport at home shambles of a day all around (no Jordy)

Win at Coventry away superb atmosphere from the away end (Jordy was present)

Win at Stevenage and again only small numbers but was loud and proud again.

Players and manager have praised the away support lately but nothing about the library at the New Lawn it’s no coincidence. Jordy tries real hard to get it going and I know that he is heartbroken about the whole thing especially that he will miss Cheltenham.

Arguably Jordy being at Coventry and Stevenage was as important as Keanu being back.

This lad (who is a student) has spent hundreds of pounds out of his own pocket watching FGR up and down the country the past decade. And this is how the club treat him.

Football is turning into a nanny state.

A lot of shouting here, but none have pointed out his misdemeanour that brought this about. What was it that does not justify a ban? :?

This is terrible news. Does anyone know who at the club can sort it out?

Pretty embarassing when the ground is silent. Shame as it had been getting better, before this.

Moshing
A dangerous genre of dancing related to heavy metal/rock music. Usually done in crowded areas by pushing, shoving and jumping. The denser frontal part of a concert gig will usually have the crazier stunts such as trampling and crowd surfing.

Is this what it was coyler?

Apparently so.

I was in the SS during the Swindon game when this allegedly happened and I couldn’t see/feel in danger at any point.

I can only resonate the above, however I’ve spent the past few years travelling up and down the country with him and I’d struggle to name many more passionate fans of the club. Abysmal decision by those “in charge”..... and they wonder why we aren’t on board with them...

So what exactly was this lad's crime? I find it hard to believe that some has been banned for dancing.

Ridiculous decision. Of all the things that happen in football grounds - he’s essentially been banned for jumping?! Are the club going to ban the entire promotion winning side for the same crime at Wembley?

What’s happened to creating an atmosphere?!?

Someone at the club needs to reverse the decision..as every supporter is needed right now...especially those loyal and willing to sing and create an atmosphere to support the team.

I don't think this is a board decision so "those in charge" of the club IE Dale I'm pretty sure he isn't behind or knows anything. This is more the oil rag not the engineer.

Too little information for an outsider to comment. I assume club has cctv etc and/or eye witness statements. They have a duty of care for people on its property. They must have judged it an inappropriate risk to them and/or others. Little surprised that if banned from home club it is not applied to away grounds. Maybe legally cant. Like i say no real info to go on so cant give comment on ban. I was surprised bit surprised by lifetime ban for the coventry guy even though criminal office. On a case by case basis he didnt come across as a thug and sonething less than life in my opinion would more appropriate - maybe just making him an example as from what was said coventry have a problem with this.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
