Crawley v FGR: match forecast

Second and successive league match in which FGR play club next to them in league table. Therefore an important game for both teams - winner will secure a little daylight away from automatic relegation spot.
Crawley are having a dire time at home with just one win and six losses this season.
Their current home form [6 matches] is 1 win, 1 draw & 4 losses.
Their current league form is: 1 win, 3 draws & 2 losses.
So FGR's first team will take to the field having won their last three league matches [2 away] and a FA Cup match.
Our defence has strengthened up from early days which has allowed our forward line to be more dangerous against the opposition.

My forecast: Crawley 0-2 FGR

I am persuaded by TOTC's succinct analysis. With 12 goals scored so far this season it strikes me that Crawley will either not score, or will score once. We're not creating masses of good chances presently (we certainly didn't yesterday) so I'll go for a 1-0 FGR win.

Another 6 pointer, as OTC states a great opportunity to climb away from the strugglers.

Crawley are tight at the back, only conceding half as many as us (16 cf.32) and they have held Luton, Grimsby & Lincoln to 0-0 stalemates.

Think the winning run will continue

0-0 I reckon.

Our defence looks sound but we don't create many chances. A point will be a decent return.

Interesting to note that Crawley have similar prediction thread to this.
Only two posts so far but they both seem confident of securing a home win.

Our back four has tightened up a lot in the last month and Crawley haven't scored or conceded many this season.

I can see a tightly fought draw which ultimately pleases neither set of fans.

Agree with the above - Crawley must be the worst club to have been promoted from the Conference. Roll on Saturday - they are rubbish. 3 Points are up for grabs here.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
