Shamir Mullings

Loads of good luck to Shamir for his 2 month spell at Macclesfield.

Sham's a lovely fella who finds himself down the pecking order at present. I think he has real talent but he needs games under his belt and is not getting much opportunity at FGR at present. Macc showed some neat built up on Saturday but needed better target men, especially someone who can take and hold back to goal. I'm sure he'll do well there.

I think this is a good move, he's a popular player in the dressing room but his confidence has looked a bit low and league 2 is a big step up. Thought his best performance this year was his cameo v Exeter, made some good runs in behind and took his goal well, albeit Exeter were cruising at that point.

Hopefully he plays regularly at Macc, I'd imagine as a top side at a lower level they will create more chances for their strikers then we do at this level, so seems like the ingredients are there for him to find his scoring touch. Best of luck to him.

Not surprised, as you say a decent fella but not League 2 standard I'm afraid.

Good for Shamir. I spoke to Sham briefly after the game along the lines of keep calm and carry on. It's a good move to get match sharpness for the new year, when no doubt the going will get tough. Enjoy your stay at Macclesfield, a beautiful area.

Good move for both parties. Hope he gets game time, scores goals and gains confidence. Not convinced he could do a job for us, but can be persuaded. Its now up to Shamir. I suppose given that he is a success for The Maccs, we could profit by selling him on.........you never know

Yes good luck Sham. I hope this really benefits him, as he has potential, but needs game time.

I sort of guessed something must be up with Mullings when he wasn't in the subs for Swansea. Now we know.

As CG says, Macca looked like they needed a different plan up front for when their passing was being closed down and Mullings will be a handful for a lot of defences even though he looks ungainly. Good luck to him and I hope he proves himself and can come back in the new year raring to go for us.

you may be right.
there again quite ,a few said Keiffer Moore was not a league one player.

i said Matty Taylor was not league standard.

i still think Mullings will be a 'success'.

glad he has gone to national league-and a good team.
like others identify-seems to be the type of target man macclesfield need .
i think it will work well for all parties

Shamir has just turned 24 and appears to have the right attitude and desire, plus a great physique for a forward. Don't write him off just yet, I think there is more to come if he gets back to playing every week.

I agree Michael, I was surprised by his trickery in the first play off game at Dagenham & Redbridge last season when he beat three players by the touch line right in front of us.

The one thing Sham isn't is a target man. He just doesn't have the jumping to be able to do it. Imho, he's a decent National League South/North standard player.
Your hands-down winner.

Oh dear. The story seems out of character so hopefully there is another side to it.

A huge wasted opportunity for him if he is back with us as the rumours state. I thought it was probably an important moment for him ahead of January.

Looks like someone has been messing with his Wikipedia entry. Now says born 2015 and plays for Manchester United as a goalkeeper.

Yeah, it looks like a number of people vandalised his Wiki page yesterday, if I have time later I will try to work out what has been done and restore the previous information...unless someone else beats me to it!

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
