FGR v Crewe: match forecast

CREWE ALEXANDRA v FGR
Third successive match that FGR play a team next to them in the league table.
Following the 1-1 draw at Crawley, FGR dropped to 21st in table with 16 pts. Crewe sit 20th with an extra point but of those 17 pts Crewe have only 1 win [3 pts] away from home.
Crewe’s away form is therefore of very serious concern to club.
On current form [6 matches] Crewe are 20th in table with 6 pts from two home wins. They have lost their last three matches. [FGR are 4th with 11 pts]
Needless to say they are rock bottom of the current away form table with zero points. Where Crewe might derive some comfort is that FGR’s current home form of 5 losses & 1 win [22nd in table] might encourage them to believe they could take something away with them from game.

Nevertheless FGR are playing high class winning football and a home win at TNL is more than probable:
My forecast FGR 3-1 Crewe
COYR

///////////////////////////////////////////////////

Crawley 1-1 FGR

A good week with 8 on FGR forum forecasting a 1-1 result and two others predicting a draw.
The Crawley forum fans only had 1 perfect prediction plus another one for a draw.

No previous meetings between the clubs. Another "first".

The players should take great heart from the current run of form.

An early goal, get our tails up and impose ourselves on the game.

FGR 3-1 Crewe

I would love for Osbourne or Drissa to get one of them and celebrate in front of the South Stand. They deserve it.

Tom, can you please check your figures. After the Macclesfield game Tommyd had 3 perfect predictions but seems to have disappeared. I had 2 after Macclesfield and got the Crawley score right so I should be on 3 as well.

I only put up those who entered a prediction.
Next time they will reappear if they do so.

Interesting - which would mean that there are now six (seven?) players all with three correct predictions? What fun :D

I think based on recent form, a home win must surely be most likely - we really need to capitalise on this game and the Chesterfield game to try and pull clear of the bottom three.

Crewe have been eratic and sometimes self destruct, but Rovers have failed to deliver any thumping wins.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
