A defeat was going to happen sooner or later.

Interesting to see whether it was a red or not as that has probably changed things, but still some positives to take and Doidge is still banging them in.

Onwards and upwards. Roll on Saturday.

16th downward is a hell of a scrap.

Monthe saves kittens from drowning and all that, but he's something of a liability at this level.

Monthe brought on at 47 mins, sent off after 49?!

What happened??

Come on SkunkMan, he came on at H/T so it was 46 mins, so he lasted 3 mins.

Bit of a big ask but we might have nicked a point at the end, which suppose will help morale if nothing else.

Barnet turned it round very late so Spireites still bottom but all tightening up again.

The incentive for us on Saturday is to beat Cheltenham and drag them into the basement battle.

What's done is done, let's move on and have a crack at Cheltenham on Saturday - they drew 0-0 with Cambridge tonight.

No real damage done to the league table - we're down one place to 20th. There was a late win for Barnet, but defeats for Morecambe and Port Vale. Crawley, Yeovil and Crewe are only 1 point ahead of us so no need to be too downbeat, even if we are back to having the worst goal difference!

Very tight. Few matches without a win and we could be back in the brown again. Win Saturday would help!

Disappointed with the result but as others have said, we had to loss sometime or other. Bad first half but with Manny being sent off we were going to struggle for the rest of the match. Lets hope for a better match on Saturday.

Final completed team sheet if you want to print out a copy: http://www.forestgreenroversfc.co.uk/id31.html

Attendance: 4306 (93 from FGR) Well done those supporters.

Man-of-the-Match: Isaiah Osbourne

Onward to the big match against Cheltenham Town at The New Lawn this Saturday,

We were poor tonight, really poor. Score line flattened us. We never got off the bus. Massive reaction needed Saturday.

Bob made it sound like Chesterfield wasted a lot of good chances themselves too. Hope that means we've got it out of our system and start the next good run.

Chesterfield missed at least three golden chances and Brad made a number of good saves, particularly first half. We had three chances and scored twice. So could have been 6-2 quite easily. That said we showed some character to draw the second half when down to 10 men.

Manny now on the naughty step i should think. His first touch was ok, second touch let it get away from him and third touch takes the guy out completely. Changed the game.

Manny a ‘work in progress’ ? Now I think that’s being overly generous. We are 19 games into the season after all. Whatever work Cooper is doing with him, he isn’t progressing.

I clearly remember the PSF at Shortwood: Cooper was singling out Manny that afternoon and constantly barking instructions at him from the dugout. The guy is not improving and I have yet to be impressed by anything he does.

Like I say: Cooper clearly has faith in him, but apart from his sheer ‘presence’, I can’t see much else.

Manny is still young. Sounds like a bad tackle tonight and off the pace when coming on. But give him some more time.

Ermm... at least one part of this page is racist. I suggest the mystery editor edits it back again.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
