Football is a funny game and anything is possible. We all understand the odds on this game but if we again play with a young attacking line up with no fear, then we might score a couple. Then it’s down to the rather threadbare defence...

Backs to the wall, odds against us, massively depleted, played 120 minutes midweek and playing the free scoring league leaders. Good time for everyone to show some backbone on and off the pitch.

Either that or hope it snows again. ;)

Every time you predict scores like that you end up with egg on your face. Remember Notts and Coventry?

But when we played Coventry I had fgr to win in my accumulater and won a lot of money. It's not a stupid bet, they've put 7 past better teams than ours!

They wont put 7 past us.

Backing us to come out fighting, we don't roll over. Looking forward to Saturday, lets get stuck in to them.

I am confidently expecting FGR to draw on saturday-to a mass outbreak of hysteria/dancing in the streets of nailsworth/turned the corner stuff.

on balance-i would take the point-could be crucial at season end-but is there an argument that a heavy 7-0 defeat would be the best thing to happen to expose just how far off this team is ?

problem than is that it would be-ah but its Luton and thats no surprise, and the cracks simply papered over.

So-confident of a draw on saturday-but a lot less confident for remainder of this year/xmas period-and frankly-next year-as i just don't envisage these 'wonderful signings happening.

'Cooperball ' may be great in the championship ,-and credit players and manager for the style-but in the depths of a relegation battle in league 2-i just don't think its the formula to accumulate enough survival points.
Once points are allocated for style-bring it on-until then-can we just play effective football whatever it takes

That doesn't make any sense.

Surely if you're confident the team can get a draw with the league leaders, then you can't then think the team is "far off" being a good side?

We've been competetive in every game over the last dozen games or so, including against some of the top sides in the division. In effect we've just drawn twice (over 90 minutes) with a top 4 side, despite having several key players out. That hardly indicates a team that's "far off" being decent at this level.

agree it may not be 'far off', but that does not secure regular points.

could it be that Lutons style may be more suited to FGR way of playing-and its seen as a 'one-off game' by players and supporters ;whereas the games that matter are the attritional games against your peer sides, who find a way of negating FGR .
thats where imo-FGR are not sufficiently equipped

FGR 2 - 2 Luton

Rovers go into minimum added time 2-1 to the good. Then in last minute of that time, Luton equalise. :o

Par for our course. ;)

Both your scores 500/1 on Betfair, so go on lads, put your money where your mouth is if you're confident we're in for a hammering.....

A ton on would give you a nice extra 50k in time for Christmas. Or are you all talk?

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
