What would be your guess on how much time our Chairman will give MC to turn our season around and guarantee League Football next season. My guess end of January.

It's already too late for that. If MC was to have been replaced, then the desisive time was around 10-12 games in when it was obvious things had gone horribly wrong. Their would have been time for a new man to reorganise and plan for the Jan transfer window.

Bring in someone now and that time to plan has already gone.

So our best bet is to stick, and hope we bring in a few quality players. Judging by the preseason recruitment that may prove very difficult.

3 points at Exeter would improve our prospects. Here's hoping.

End of feb if we're looking adrift. Got to let the new signings try and make an impact first, we're a win or 2 away from looking in a good position

Not too sure here. We are not too far off relative safety with a couple of wins, so could keep MC. Must really strengthen squad in Jan window, no more loan kids who we will develop for the future.I hate to admit this but we need strong experienced league players who we will have to pay to come here ( the tag of mercenary and money-grabbers will apply ), but if it means survival that will do for me,....... you never know they might want to stay beyond May. Good results against Exeter and Wycombe would ease our predicament in the short-term. Keep the faith.......Im still confident we will stay up.

If we lose first match in Feb after amassing no more than 8 points in Jan. Could be the tipping point.

If he gets the players he wants and it's still looking bad at end of February he should go. There's a good chance the right man could pull us out of the quag. After all not many seasons ago it was a relegation battle to the end of the season and sometimes beyond every time.

Really? After all he's done for us?
I don't think so.

I also don't think he'll be sacked until at least Feb and only if Jan transfers don't work out.

I'm sure they will and we'll all live happily ever after.

Remember what happened after Newport?!!

I forget exactly-but wasn't it something like a great 5-0 win away at newport ;and then it steadily went downhill for the rest of the season ?

not too sure how that reminder restores a smile to my face ,but never mind

Newport was when we lost 4-0 at home and everyone was suicidal and wanted MC gone because of a few poor results.

We came back, won next three and only lost two of the next six.

So we can do it again starting with. a win tomorrow.

not long hopefully. He's not a nice guy. I didn't like him from last season when he turned and had a go at my brother (who's a ref) for sticking up for the officials when we were losing a game and cooper was wrongly doing his usual thing of heranging the officials. He's arrogant and stubborn and he's taking us down...

Maybe. Before my time though.
My time started last summer.

The fact we have announced Grubb and are going to announce three more on Jan 2nd suggests Cooper will have plenty of time.

Whilst we need to add some more players I don't think that will solve the problem on its own.

Our defensive problems have existed for 18 months and many, many defensive line ups. Our game out from the back is too slow and allows teams to settle in to defensive formations. Our first thought should be 'forward', just as the best exponents of possession football do. So we need to change and improve this just as much as we need new players.

Finally, Cooper needs to put more effort in to getting fans behind him. Even a few weeks ago when the South Stand sang his name as he walked out from half time he didn't turn to acknowledge them. In a hole and fighting relegation he would do well to get everyone united.

in my humble opinion, based on my experience of working with other people, there are two ways to do this, 1. win all the time. 2. when you get things wrong although it hurts stop protecting your ego, learn and try not to be an absolute **** to the players, fans and refs because you feel upset.

Thing with DV is that you can't predict when he'll wield the axe. Adie Pennock was sacked on the eve of the playoffs.

If little improvement after the transfer window, and we lose at home to Stevenage on 13th Feb, I'd say around 10pm that night.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
