Match Thread from The New Lawn (Port Vale)

Assuming LM still taking a break I'll get this posted. A few of the new boys come straight in and Grubb and Whittle on the bench too:

Player
1 Bradley Collins
6 Emmanuel Monthe
16 Gavin Gunning
20 Farrend Rawson
3 Scott Laird
5 Lee Collins C
34 Isaiah Osbourne
17 Dan Wishart
10 Reece Brown
9 Christian Doidge
26 Reuben Reid
Subs
19 Alex Whittle
8 Dayle Grubb
7 Keanu Marsh-Brown
12 Jordan Simpson
24 Harry Pickering
33 Luke James
35 Jordan Stevens

Vale know how to press so let's hope we're alive to that and Christian and Reuben hit it off from the get-go.

Morcambe taken a lead away in Cleethorpes, not sure that suits us. We're sounding OK so far, not quite so vulnerable to crosses and corners. Shame Scott wasted that free kick.

Can we get an update on Drissa and Bennet? We need them back desperately.

Held our own but only really created half chances, maybe let them in it a bit more late. Bob makes it sound like Manny is a bit off the pace but not sure what we can do about that.

The new recruits are the reason why we are drawing - in a good way first time this season where we don't look like conceeding and solid defensively. Reubin is playing with intelligence and talking to Doidge all the time. All three showing themselves as cracking signings.

Feeling KMB on form is the missing link here.

Doidge scored one in the FA Cup replay at Exeter, but I don't remember one in a league match.

Always great to see new strikers score on their debut. Assist from Doidge as well.

Good way to start his FGR career. I can't understand why Exeter let him go.

Think it was Vale only gave him a short contract on a low wage as he was coming back from injury or similar when signed, so out of contract.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
