FGR v Stevenage: match forecast

FGR’s trip to Stevenage in October was one of our only two away wins so far this season. The other away win was at Coventry who we did the double over in last home game.
Can FGR make it a double double in two consecutive games?

STEVENAGE
Stevenage are 15th in table with Sky Bet predicting they will finish season in same place.
Sky Bet also predict a FGR 2-1 Stevenage result.

On current form they are 17th with 6 pts from 1 win, 3 draws & 2 losses:
Morecambe [d], Carlisle [d], Chesterfield [w], Swindon [l], Accrington [l], Luton [d]

Stevenage are 16th on away form with 4pts from 1 win, 1 draw & 4 losses:
Exeter [l], Lincoln [l], Crawley [l], Morecambe [d], Chesterfield [w], Accrington [l]

Miscellaneous facts:
Only 7 clean sheets this season
Only 3 games scoring 2 or more away goals
Only 4 away clean sheets this season
Biggest away defeat of season: Luton 7-1 Stevenage

FGR
FGR are 10th in current form table with 3 wins & 3 losses.
They are 15th in current home form table with 3 wins and 3 losses.

Miscellaneous facts:
11 games since a draw
Only 8 games scoring 2 or more goals
16 out of 31 games conceding 2 or more goals
Only 3 clean sheets this season
6 games since a home draw
9 out of 16 games conceding 2 or more home goals
Only 2 home clean sheets this season

Because of Barnet’s win on Saturday, Sky Bet has dropped FGR down to 23rd [relegation] spot in their predicted end of season table. And here is chance for FGR to prove those profession pundits wrong by maintaining a winning run against Stevenage and teams to follow.

Hopefully the benefit from having the Newport game cancelled is that FGR will be fully fit while Stevenage might still be stiff from Saturday.

My forecast: FGR 3-1 Stevenage

Likewise hoping that our 'rest day' on Saturday and our recent home form lead to a win...

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
