FGR v Crawley: match forecast

FGR’s one point from a 1-1 draw at Crawley in November was gained during a poor period of mixed results for the Sussex team. Since the New Year Crawley are playing consistent winning football and are now in top half of table. 9th is best they have been all season.
Crawley are season’s current 5th best away team with 25 points [Luton best with 29 pts] so they must travel to TNL full of confidence. However they play a FGR team that has won its last four home matches which will also give the home side a bag full of confidence.
Sky Bet have forecast a 1-1 draw.

CRAWLEY
Crawley are 3rd in current form [6 games] with 15 pts from 5 wins and one loss:
Notts Co [w] Accrington [w] Chesterfield [w] Grimsby [w] Luton [l] Lincoln [w]

Crawley are 2nd in current away form with 12 pts from 4 wins and two losses:
Accrington [w] Yeovil [w] Newport [l] Notts Co [w] Chesterfield [w] Luton [l]

FGR
FGR are 6th in current form table with 10 pts from 3 wins and a draw and two losses.
FGR are 13th in current home form table with 12 pts from 4 wins and two losses.

Both teams are having decent run and neither club have had that many draws during season.
Before I checked out the above figures I thought FGR v Crawley was an assured home win but am now slightly wavering and will wait until I have more background info on both clubs to make a forecast.
Difficult.

So from OTC's excellent graphics, FGR have not beaten anyone currently in the top 8.
Crawley are 9th.
Ever the optimist I'll go for a 3-1 win for FGR.

I stopped updating tables on this thread.
It was not fair on those who have paid to enter Pitchfork's competition.
I will try and inform all on each games correct forecasts as I did on the Morecambe game.

I'm sure no-one would mind OTC - once you start something, you raise expectation...as I found out over 10 years.

Next season you can start a new structure based on your ideas

Tough one - although Crawley don't score that many.

Think we might slip up as they are on a decent run of form...

Crawley 2 v FGR 0

A return to the previously published tables would be most welcome OTC ;)

I'll go Rovers 3 - Creepy 2.

(Looking forward to seeing OTC's updated table, despite being this year's Barnet in it.....)

Every match is huge from now onwards. This will prove whether we have turned the corner or not. Crawley very much on form. Personally I would put L Collins back in and would love to see Kmb and Drissa on bench. Can’t see that happening though. It may be a case of can we outscore them. I’m going for a heartbreaking 3-4 loss.

Much will depend on Brad. Would like to see us score either from a corner or penalty which we have either not made the most of or just not got. Also we always look vulnerable on counter attack from our own corners. The bad news is we have won the last 2 home games I have missed, so sorry but I can go to this one. Really going to be exciting match I think. Lets hope the crowd get involved and rousing atmosphere inspires a win.

Sadly, I will be amazed if we see Drissa or KMB in an FGR shirt in a League 2 match again

I think this will be very tight and tense, like Coventry, but with our new found defensive excellence I will go for a 2-1 win.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
