Crewe v FGR: match forecast

With both teams having so similar GD, Crewe and FGR have recently been playing leap frog in the EFL2 table. And although in many ways this game could be described as a 6-pointer, both teams appear to be climbing out of the relegation mire.
FGR entertained Crewe at TNL earlier this winter during a bout of extreme bad and wet weather when all the Crewe fans unilaterally moved to North Stand. That was their only victory of day – they returned home to Cheshire having lost game 2-3.

Crewe
Crewe are 16th in current form table [6 games] with 7 pts from 2 wins, 3 losses and one draw:
Notts Co [l], Yeovil [d], Accrington [l], Colchester [w], Exeter [l], Lincoln [w]

They are 21st in current home form with 7 pts from 2 wins, 3 losses and one draw:
Swindon [l], Grimsby [w], Wycombe [l], Yeovil [d], Colchester [w], Exeter [l]

Crewe’s biggest home victory this season is 5-1 v Chesterfield.
Their heaviest home defeat is 0-5 v Carlisle.
Crewe have never been in automatic relegation spot this season although they have spent three weeks at 22nd. Earlier is season they had two weeks in 4th place but have averaged out between 18/20 in table during season.
Their average home attendance is 3,680 supporters.

FGR
FGR are now 9th in current form with 10 pts from 3 wins, 2 losses and one draw.
Unfortunately FGR remain in 22nd spot in current away form with just one point.

Despite win on Saturday, Sky Bet still have FGR to finish 22nd in their predicted end-of-season table. [They have Crewe to finish a place above us with two extra points.]
Sky Bet forecast a Crewe 1-0 FGR result.

I suspect both teams will be confident of a good result: Crewe had a fantastic 4-1 away win at Lincoln on Saturday while we all know FGR are playing as well as best in division.
I will therefore go with a Crewe 0-2 FGR away win.

Crewe 1 FGR 2

We need Doidge back on top form but I think we will create enough chances on the break to win

I don't think the game will go ahead, but if it does I think Crewe will nick it

FGR 1 v Crewe 0

You think Crewe will nick it but forecast FGR nicking it.

Assuming it's on, both set up not to lose, minimal risk taking.

0-0.

My little'un will be gutted if it's called off as Greeners and myself were going to take him to the Railway Heritage centre before the match.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
