Chances of Crewe being on?

Postby stroud green » Wed Feb 28, 2018 1:02 pm

Looking at the latest forecasts from the Met Office it's not looking good. Even if it is on, we might not be able to get there.

i think that the biggest issue will be getting out of Gloucestershire.

Having said that, I'd expect a decision to be made on Friday.

Personally I won't be disappointed, as i wanted to go, but couldn't. Plus, we're playing on Tuesday too.

There is an online camera at the Crewe Heritage Center here

http://creweheritagecentre.org/about-us/cameras/

At 12.00 noon today 28/02 there was no snow - bit different 50 minutes later!!

If Crewe have the pitch covered then the game could still go ahead, as Saturdays forecast is for temperatures to lift above zero.

Hopefully Crewe FC keep the club and fans updated.

I'm getting a bit worried.
Tonight my weekly Whist Drive was cancelled because of the bad weather.
And that is indoors.

Extremely unlikely this will be on, given the freezing temperatures, further forecasted snow and transport difficulties.

Crewe have sensibly arranged a pitch inspection tomorrow noon, so that should clarify whether we can expect the match to take place.

- 5 here in the land of Forest Green today, but with the raging winds it feels a hell of a lot colder. However it's only going to last a few days.....some of us remember the winter of 62/63 and being kicked out to play in freezing temperatures for weeks on end. Great memories :D

you were only kicked out? again sounds soft.

Great tweet from Jason Manford earlier in the week along the lines, 'Red warning of snow: southerners do not travel unless absolutely necessary; northerners you will need your big coat.'

Outside the mill, or on top of a factory chimney stack, where else?

I'm in East Cheshire and whilst we do have a covering of couple of inches it's actually stopped. I believe in the next 24 hrs the worst is supposed to be down your way, we have rain forecast for Saturday

My heart almost bleeds for all of you stuck in the British deep freeze, when the temperature hit 37...Celsius, not Farenheight...yesterday afternoon in Suchitoto, El Salvador...relocating to the beach later today, will think of you all when I am dipping my toes in the Pacific.
The future is bright, the future is green...Forest Green!

With the inches of snow overnight the Crewe games looks les and less likely to be played.
And the weather might also take out the Newport game on Tuesday.
Real fixture pile up but fortunately other teams are suffering same fate.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
