Daniel Powell (remember him?) scored his 3rd in 3 games for Crewe yesterday. Just looked at Wikipedia and it was the 2009-2010 season he played for us on loan from MK Dons!

Decent player, seem to remember him and Conal Platt played on opposite flanks and did well at times. Problem was that until we signed Styche that January all they had to feed balls too were the likes of Tomi Ameobi and Isaiah Rankin, not the greatest strike pairing in our history it's fair to say.

Tomi Ameobi - the man for whom all jokes about barn doors and blunderbusses were written! I seem to remover he was eventually credited with a goal but AFAIR it was went in off some part of his anatomy other than his head, legs or feet!

Ameobi managed to ply a decent trade in Iceland though. Like many players, he didn't fit with us, but showed talent elsewhere. Meanwhile, some play better for us than anyone else.

New poster but been following FGR this season; Doidgey has been a revelation for us. Looked like the clumsiest player in an age when he first joined but since he scored his first he’s been unstoppable. Having Martin Boyle on the wing feeding him chances has helped but he’s worked hard since day one.

Bargain of the century.

Yeah, its been amazing to turn around for him and the turn around in opinion about Doidgy on your Hibees forum. I tried to register on the Forum before Christmas to say you'd be loving him soon enough due to his goals and hard work in both boxes but couldn't manage it. I'm glad he has managed to turn views positive anyway.

That was the worst he's played in weeks but it's blowing a gale, every single ball put into the box or even any pass over ten feet was liable to be blown off course by a gust of wind. Not a great advert for Scottish football which is unfairly talked down but I don't think you can judge a player on a day like today.

I always believed he could play in the Premiership. In fact I think he could play for England even now.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
