Haha Ash. You can’t win!

We could do with a bit of sell on fee given the bargain Doidge and Reece Brown went for.

Then again, in a year he may be worth a lot more so I hope Barnsley get to keep him a bit longer.

Going home I guess but why would Barnsley sell a prime asset and club captain to a Championship rival? Odd

Last year of his deal and he wouldn’t sign a new one. So had to cash in I guess.

Makes it good for us too with the sell on clause. Anyone an idea of what a sell on clause ‘normally’ looks like?
I assume a % of the net receipt to Barnsley?
Say £3m-£750k= net £2.25m x ?%
£225k/£450k?

Exactly why on the face of it Christian and Reece moves look like bad business but if you factor in the sell on clauses there will be money in the coffers at some stage.

Putting the emotion of football to one side it's a good business model at this level.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
