FGR TV - Match Day Pass

Postby Main Stander » Sun Sep 15, 2019 8:23 pm

Hello All,

Just wondered if anyone had any feedback on the new match day streaming service? Thinking of having a look at this on Tuesday, but just wanted to know if its worth it, is stream video good quality? Audio good quality?

I generally find it very good.

Video is good. I watch on the iPad app so I can’t vouch for other devices.

This season they have replays, as well us other useful statistics.

The audio depends on the Radio Glos service.

As it such a long trip on Tuesday I shall be ordering a pass.

How do you get one? Is it on the main site somewhere?

iFollow is what you need or rummage around local radio channels. Link is forTV broadcast from Carlisle United for £10, but some of that money will go to Carlisle which might rankle, especially if we don't get a result

So I've bought my pass for £10. What do I do now? Do I need to register for Green Devils TV?

You're brave, signing up fo the FGR version, SS. I had so many login problems when FGR decided to make video content restricted last year, I'm not sure I'd trust the service.

Seems you need to register and download an App. Let us know how you get on/user-friendliness. I'm going to be away at the end of the month and would be interested in the Salford game.

I've paid and registered but now what???? Where do I get this app? Does it have to be on my phone, as I don't fancy watching a football match while holding a phone. I've spent an hour going through the FGR main site, but can only find references to FGR Green Devils TV.

Hi SS,

If you have a smart TV you can download the FGRTV app from Google Play. Once downloaded, open the app and it will give you the option to login or register. I'm assuming if you have subscribed you will have your login and password already.

I would try and do the download well ahead of the game tomorrow as it takes time using your TV remote.

Thanks for the help 2gs, but I don't have a smart TV. I didn't think it was necessary. I assumed that it would be accessible from a PC or laptop.

I expected it to be less than straightforward which is why I'm starting today.

Hi SS,

Same principle applies with a laptop or tablet although you can go onto main FGR Website, login and go to matches section where the radio commentary and TV option are available.

It would be a much better option to download FGR TV app from Google play or Playstore depending on your operating platform. Then all you do is open the app, login and away you go.

Spent 2 hours on this rubbish. Going round in circles and getting nowhere. Been into FGR site. It says I have to go into play store to download the FGR TV app. This seems to be for Android operating system only, not Windows, and I really don't feel like watching a 90 minute match on my phone.

Is a laptop running Windows 10 not a "smart device"???

SS,

You don't need the app for windows. From this forum top right hand side it says 'main site' open that in a new tab. On main site scroll down until you see subscribe to radio or TV option. There will be 3 options. 1 annual radio pass, 2 monthly radio pass, 3 Carlisle v FGR.

Enter your card details and confirm pay £10.

Tonight go back to main site click login, enter your login details, scroll down to match day tab then click on TV and your up and running.

Thanks for the advice Steve. I was confused as when I paid, I received an email telling me to click on a link which took me to a place to install the APP. I have an 8 digit order number, so hopefully all I need to do is enter that when I log on.

Fingers crossed for a good result tonight.

Still struggling. There doesn't seem to be any way to enter the fact that I have already paid......

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
