How many times did we hear that in a post match interview during Pennock's tenure?! He and Arnold deserve each other!

I think that Jonnie Hayes has become the first former FGR player to appear in a Champions League match?

[/that said-i must agree with Mr Pennock that i similarly salivate over nil-nils-its sooo professional quote]

excactly-i love them as well, albeit 1-0 with a injury time winner for FGR admittedly better still

Good to see Ethan Pinnock starting for Barnsley today :D

James Norwood was on the losing side again in Saturday. Tranmere now off the pace somewhat.

Are you being ironic Michael? Lat year, Tranmere were top after winning their first 3 or 4 games before hitting the buffers and dropping back. Micky Mellon's appointment turned things around. I think they will turn things around - hope so for James' sake - and there are 7 places that give the chance of promotion this year

no.

genuinely thought they had a slow start-seems i was wrong and as you say-the slowdown came a bit later .

maybe it was the season before..thats what happens at my age, when you start to rely on memory as opposed to hard facts !

Just a quick question that Lady Magpie should be able to answer, if no one else can. Did Abdul Majeed Waris ever play for FGR while at Hartpury College. Just interested coz it looks like he might be about to join premier league Burnley from Lorient (French ligue 2, not National league L. Orient) for about £6 million.

No he didn't play for us, he might be one of those players that couldn't play at the time due to his Nationality clearance.

Excellent news for my second team The Bucks because Louis McGrory has signed for AFC Telford United.

He may play this Saturday, at home, to Bradford Park Avenue.

A few good touches in the 4-1 defeat at home, a few passes astray but needs to be more combative in the holding roll. Anyway defence a problem, mmm sounds familiar to FGR. Great keeper in Jas Singh though ex of Gloucester.

Barnes-Homer subbed. Done his work for the season ...why did they sign him?

Hadn't realised that Fleetwood is now with Merthyr Town, having left Weymouth. Is he still with Cheltenham Academy? If not, he wasn't there very long.

A bit of a 'Rivers reunion' for Newport County against us in the Checkatrade Trophy game tonight, with David Pipe, James Bittner and Sean Rigg all in the starting line up. Pipey was subbed at half time.

Sad to note that Guiseley has sacked Adam Lockwood. 5 points and one win not enough for a tidler club in a pond full of whales

Sad for Adam Lockwood - esp. after watching him on last week-ends National League programme, full of hope looking and forward to the future. Post above should read " he was in a pond full of sharks ".

Hi GC. Yes thought about sharks. But decided you didn't get sharks in ponds. Nor whales for that matter! (Oh dear, I'm getting like Bernard in Yes Minister)

For amusement, just keep following Ady Pennock's quotes. The gift that keeps on giving. Latest one was about the whole Club being in a good place. What, relegation places in EFL1?!

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
