And ..Exeter City have appointed former Torquay United manager Kevin Nicholson as head of coaching. "The 38-year-old takes over from his former Gulls team-mate Wayne Carlisle, who became City's assistant manager in the summer after Eric Kinder left to take over Carlisle United's academy"

He does get reasonable supply but he is up against strong defenders. Still he managed to play in front of 50000 today. I wish him well but it might be a tough season for him - he lost 6.1 today but Hibs were down to 10 men for the last 30 minutes. Vegan Jermaine Defoe got a hat trick.[/quote

Sure he struggled and also some of the fans gave him stick on social media, not as easy as what people think regarding the Scottish Premiership

Scored a great goal today though - albeit it was very late on, as a sub and against lower opposition. You're right that stepping up a level or two is never easy. But Doidge has broad shoulders and I still think he'll be ok.

Reece will have a harder struggle now with that manager turnover.

I see Archibald scored again. Pity for Macca that Sol has left - he seemed to be doing a great job.

Maybe a change in management will help Reece. Or perhaps make him available on loan (please)

The sacked manager's record was dire. And, having watched both their games in the Championship, they are devoid of creativity or ability in midfield - Fulham in particular ran rings around them and passed them to distraction. So, how Reece can be pushed to make their top 40 playing options is mystifying. Suggests a disconnect between recruitment person and manager

Nors on the sheet yesterday, missed penalty too. Archibald on target for a second time. Kurtiss dived for a penalty but the lino knew his game and got the ref to change his mind

I hope CD comes good, but at his best, his value was finishing when taking a decent ball outside the penalty area. Not sure he is able to do that anymore, for whatever reason. Maybe confidence, maybe injury/loss of pace. Hope his manager & coaches can get inside his head and release the player we knew

Matty Taylor to Oxford United is a step down for him but he has been a decent servant at Bristol City and has proved himself to be one of our best ever players. We miss his cleverness around the box (now with Doidge gone and Williams out). Good luck to him at Oxford where he presumably will get starts not sub appearances.

Number 28, Brown is clearly listed amongst the Huddersfield substitutes here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49340156

No.28 is Jaden Brown, a defender. Reece is no.20.

Judging by the forum the fans are keen to see him given more of a chance, but that might be born of desperation given the current form. I don’t think he played well v Lincoln when he was given a start in the league cup

So Nors has adapted then? Early days maybe but a lot of clubs even in the Championship may be regretting passing over a proven goalscorer & game-changer. Carry on James ...

Didn't see it-but the rest of his game must have been good as the football paper gave him 9 out of 10 ,star player and in the EFL2 team of the day .
got a bit of competition from Lynch now though .

Another for Nors on Saturday. Still think a Championship Club missed a good punt on his record & abilities. He will have 20 by the end of the season as sure as my name's Ady Pennock

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
