Doidge gets a full game and an assist versus Celtic. Following the cup win versus Kilmarnock, this must be a high point for Doidge up north so far.

“Doidge was highly effective at leading the line.” ... apparently

Hi
I have just read that the assist was "to help" a Celtic player score an OG

I still read the NLP like to keep in touch with what our former players are up to.
Great feature Reece Styche'so dream team in whicharge he included 8 at FGR
Sam Russell Grimsby
Chris Stokes Stevenage
Luke Jones Tamworth
Jamie Turley Orient
James Hodgkiss Hereford
Lee Fowler Bradford PA assistant mgr
Matthew Taylor Oxford Utd
James Norwood Ipswich

6 on the bench include Yankee Kluowski and Andy Mangan

Only Turley and Stokes possibly but Norwood definitely would get into the current side.. Norwoid

Based on the pen pictures.you can see why a naughty boy like Lord James Norwood did nt fit in.

Brought back some great Conference memberd

Watched Dover v Halifax on BT on Saturday, Charlie Cooper started for Halifax along with ex FGR loanee Jerome Binnom-Williams and Anthony Jeffrey came on for Dover.

Charlie has started every game for Halifax since joining, and was his usual combative self and always available to receive the ball and keep things simple in midfield. They look a good side, are up near the top of the league, as are Dover again.

Halifax won 2-0, was impressed with attacking midfielder Cameron King for them, scored both goals including a cracking long range outside of the boot effort in injury time, which caught the keeper out. Dover brought on a French winger called L'Ghoul that looked like a non league David Ginola, very tricky and skilful.

Edit. Just to add we got mentioned in the commentary in reference to the obvious Cooper connection, they praised the job MC is doing with Virgo tipping us for promotion this season.

Got chatting to a Hibs fan today. Asked him how he thought Doidge was getting on.

Reply was that he holds the ball up well and ought to be given more game time. Negative side for the team is that the defence ships goals far too much.

Morpeth are delighted to announce the signing of Liam Noble from Hartlepool United! The ex FGR midfielder joins on a permanent basis.

Bit of a drop for Noble, but he'll be happy in the north east with his mates, his family and his beer!

Doidge has a great week last week but awful this week apparently:

“Had Doidge not displayed such ineptitude when through on goal four times, Aberdeen would have surely suffered what would have been their only home league defeat of the season.” (BBC Sport)

Oh dear!

Both Coopers are now top of their leagues!

Of course our Mark, manager has led FGR to top of Division 2

His son Charlie, playing for Halifax, has helped take them to the top of the National League

Mark's Dad (Terry), his Mum and daughter were at The New Lawn today to witness the excellent win.

Makes sense with him needing to be close to his family in Gillingham. Incredible appointment for Chatham though.

Worth a watch, Christian has a prominent role but sadly all for the wrong reasons.

I’m sure he will stick at it and find his luck improves

Biased commentator.
The goalkeeper had a good game rather than Doidgey had a bad one.
Third opportunity CD might have done better, but goalkeeper was still quick to react.

Good header too. Is this the first time an ex-FGR player has scored in a senior competitive international?

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
