Would happily have Maxted in goal for us now.

Problem for Maxted is he is likely going there to sit on the bench, Accy's no.1 Aaron Chapman is pretty highly rated. Good challenge for him though, I suppose.

Thought Arnold was a very good keeper and could do business at lg2 level. Just kicked the ball too long. Matted not quite as good as Arnold, but great shot-stopper and prob needed an extra inch or two to make it in the league. Sure plenty will disagree with me though.

Good luck Jonny. He pushed Sam hard and was unlucky not to get a place with us. Hopefully he has more luck ousting the No 1 at Accy.

In the same game Pinnock was lucky not to have scored. ;)

A centre midfield of Marcus Kelly and Sam Wedgbury kept Wrexham in contention with a 2-0 win over Hartlepool up in the North East yesterday in front of 6800 odd.

Hartlepool are on the brink of administration and 1000 Middlesbrough fans answered the call to visit and increase the gate for much needed funds. Good to see fans pulling together.

Anyone remember a certain Ollie Thorne? I believe his brother or cousin is still flying his trade at Derby county but on my (brief) research into Ollie I find he's flying his trade at Alylesbury nowadays.

Thanks for info Tim.

Hi, TOTC. Do you think we or Cheltenham would rally to the cause, if either of our Southern, relatively, clubs were in the same position?

Ask it as an ex-Northerner, where I still find football supporters, in general, more friendly ... 'oop there'. :?:

We are off to Carlisle on Saturday and I remember when the Cumbrians had an away game when the north west was being drenched.
They returned to the club and found it under water as was their cars.
But rather than feeling sorry for themselves, they started helping out those unfortunates whose homes had been flooded.
I am still impressed by what they did and will give them a loud round of applause at start of game before we beat them.

BTW I am a southerner from the Home Counties.

I know I shouldn't gloat but Liam Noble's record since playing for Notts County.

P3 W0 D1 L2

Came on as a sub v Port Lincoln (2-2)
Started against Exeter City lost (1-2)
Started but was subbed v Crawley lost (1-2)

They can keep him.

Hi
The "fox in the box" didn't get on at Ashton Gate, or in the first leg. Perhaps that's why they lost. ;)

Good piece about Ethan Pinnock, his career and life so far at Barnsley.

Anyone remember a lad called Ross Stearn? Played for us very early on in the Hockaday era for a few games, came with a big reputation I think. Scored for Bath city today in a 1-1 draw away at Oxford city.

Yes, remember him. Good luck to the lad.

Yeah remember Stearn, first saw him play as a trialist in a friendly v Leeds, the day JH got sacked, and we then signed him.

Scored a cracking goal away at Rushden in the league in a 4-2 defeat, which I think was his only goal for us.
