Johnathan Smith another good one from that era, wasn't sure about him when he first came to us but after a bit of time and development from the great Jim Harvey he turned into a fine footballer. Since he left us has mainly been flying his trade in the football league, currently with Stevenage after a long spell with Luton.

Good to see David Pipe lining up for Newport County against Spurs yesterday. He can still play at the highest level. Also James Bittner on the bench for Newport.

Carl Hegg was in the CE bar for the Coventry game. MC came in before the game and had a long chat with him about old times.

Him and Coops played together here under Spink, Heggs was often paired with Meech up front. We were struggling back then but both strikers did get a reasonable amount of goals tbf, as did Mark from midfield obviously.

Thought Carl Heggs has his back to the photo - presume because his face and nose has the battered look of a forward player .

Watched Aldershot beat Daggers last night live on BT Sport. James Rowe did well in the 'shots midfield - energetic, some good touches and some poor distribution. Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose ...
