MARK COOPER - DAILY MAIL ZERO OF THE WEEK

Postby GETCARTER » Mon Dec 18, 2017 8:43 pm

Not a very good piece in todays Daily Mail newspaper - labels Mark Cooper, manager of Forest Green Rovers, in the Division 2 section, as Zero of the week, - At this stage of the season you start to get a good idea of where teams will eventually finish. Unfortunately for MC his FG side are bottom of the table. People across the whole country are reading this and drawing there own conclusions. Not good.

It will just help to motivate the whole playing staff.

Stick it to them.

Never liked the paper.

Funny how people liked them after the good press from the media day.

Is there a link to the whole piece?

Pathetic and ill informed. If Coops fails it will be because he is wedded to passing football and the development of promising young players in that mould throughout the levels of FGR's teams. Something the National Team manager wants to instil

So typical that the acolytes of instant success cannot get that vision. If we stay up this year - and I think we will - the hacks will have to eat their words. Or rather they will be worshipping as if they thought it all along

Lol, you're missing my point. Neither am I being contrary, I'm simply making an observation. Let me try again...

Everyone was happy with the publicity the club got from the media day prior to the start of the season. The Mail was one of the papers that was invited. Now that there has been some negative publicity (I've not seen the article online or in paper form) it is very interesting to see how people have turned on the Mail.

I love that response KG111.

You are usually the Barry Maguire type predictor, about doom and gloom for FGR:

"And you tell me over and over and over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction."

I just don't get why so many people think in binary and that you're either with us or against us. Life isn't like that.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
