Wembley - Name Change

Postby Foggy » Sat Dec 23, 2017 10:53 am

Some football clubs change their name because they move their ground or because they want to, from memory Arsenal, Orient and Rovers are amongst those to have done precisely that. Imagine how you would feel if this was forced upon you, by no less than the FA, this is exactly what is facing Wembley FC. If you are the sort of person who likes to protest and sign petitions, and think this situation is grossly unfair, then please share the following link amongst your friends:

That's not strictly true, is it. It's about the word Wembley being on the club badge rather than the club's name. There's a difference.

That said, it's a nasty step by the FA. Will they also be issuing proceedings against the local council and residents for using the word Wembley on road signs and postal addresses?
Your hands-down winner.

I signed too. FA bullies don't deserve to win this one.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
