Keith Embrey

Postby John Whiffen » Sat Feb 10, 2018 10:43 pm

It is with sadness that I report that Keith passed away today at his home in Shipham (near Weston super Mare).

Keith was a long standing supporter over many years, including his time as a director of the club under Trevor Horsley’s reign. He was the widower of Carol Embrey who Trevor named the suite after.

As soon as I know the funeral arrangements I will post them on the forum.

Always had a laugh and a good football discussion, when in Keith's company, during the many years I knew him. May you ' rest in peace ' my friend.

It would be a fine gesture for the club to show respect to Keith in a forthcoming programme, bearing in mind he was a Club Director and husband of Carol, whose name is seen by everyone in the stadium.

We had many good times as a club with both Keith & Carol and it was devastating for him when Carol passed away still in her prime.

Cheers for your time and effort Keith.

Always appreciated.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
