Postby Timb » Tue Mar 06, 2018 11:15 pm

The next quiz night is now 6 weeks or so away.

The night before we play Cheltenham Town. So a perfect way to relax and have a good evening before the big game.

More details before Saturday.

Have "more details" been published anywhere? Is food available? If so, is it proper food or quorn?

Hi SS.

The food will be a range of veggie chillis or baked beans with baked potatoes and accompaniments.

Doors open at 6.30 and the quiz starts around 7ish.

Teams of up to 6 or smaller.

Plenty of scratch teams on the night if you're thinking of coming along and joining a team.

All funds raised will be split 50-50 with FGR ladies.

It's a good night and I'm sure you and your good lady would enjoy the evening.

The last few have seen around 100 attending and feedback has been good.

Tickets are selling well and will be available around the Colchester game on Monday.

Whatever else, it's a good night out and great value while supporting FGR.

I hope everyone enjoyed the evening and enjoyed the food. Maybe we should organise every quiz night to be the night before the Cheltenham game....

Biggest attendance so far for a quiz night. Extra tables had to be rolled out of the store room. Around 115 or so answering the questions and much needed funds raided for FGR Ladies FC.

And then came Saturday Afternoon. Starting with lunch with my mum at Thistledown. Which I have to say was a surprise. They're opening their place for pizzas from 5 till 8 on a Saturday evening.

So depending on next Saturday's result it maybe a good place to visit, it being only a short hop up Tinkley Lane from The New Lawn. Up by the windmills.

Football is for the other thread. 8-)

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
