Ambassador Match Reports

Postby Pitchfork » Thu Sep 01, 2016 2:54 pm

Ambassadors are given the opportunity to write a brief article for the match day programme. This explains their role and reports on a recent fixture. They also get their photo in the match day magazine and can impress their friends and teachers at school. Some of our ambassadors are also submitting reports to their village magazines and local newspapers. Most have noticeboards in their schools and several publish their own FGR news for interested friends.

In August there were reports from Elsie Heslop, Seth Tiley and Daisy-Mai Griffiths

The following ambassadors have signed up to write reports for future league fixtures. Please send me your report and attached photograph within 3 days of your allocated match. Let me know if of any reason you cannot attend your requested game.

Re: Ambassador Match Reports

Great to see some of our ambassadors having reports published in news outlets, as well as well as the match day magazine. Issy Arris's Chester match report was in this week's Citizen and attracted praise on the forum. Elsie Heslop is a regular contributor to her village magazine and she has also had reports in the local paper. Her photograph is on the front page of the Nailsworth News, her FGR articles/reports will be featured every couple of months.

Hopefully we will see more ambassadors in print, promoting FGR in their local communities

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
