Matty Taylor came on as a sub for BCFC yesterday.

Could he become the first former FGR player in the Premiership ?

Interesting reading about BCFC's 3 month losing run this time last year, but they stuck with their manager and now it seems to be reaping dividends.

It's already happened, Leon Cort played 12 games for FGR in 2000/01 before three transfers saw him arrive at Stoke. He helped them win promotion to the Prem in 2008 and then played 11 times for the Potters in the 2008/09 premier season. He then moved to newly promoted Burnley for the 2009/10 making 14 appearances forThe Clarets before falling out of favour being loaned out to Preston and then sold to Charlton where he finished his career in 2014.

Marty Taylor helps BCFC win against Man U. Very good player. Pity too few saw that when with us. Still he is obviously still developing and I hope he is fully over injury now

Matty's chip to supply the winner will probably be the best assist of the season. Methinks his season is about to rocket ....

Had a chat with Aarran Racine at Worthing yesterday - he is now listed in the programme as being on the Management team for the Mackerels - and his rehab is going very well. Looking to sign to play for a higher standard team after March, and continue with his coaching experience. Lovely genuine guy, wish him all the best for his future. He spoke fondly about FGR, but i did not press him on any past events at TNL. It will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Jon Parkin scored a couple yesterday for York City against Blyth Spartans, still knocking them in at 36 next week.

I will probably get slated but I reckon if JP stood next to CD we would score twice the number we have this season so far. He knows were the goal is. He is big, alright a bit slow, stop, slow but still has the experience to help out our poor lone striker who must be desperate for help.

Quite a lot I think, like most of us, but nobody will take any notice. Keep banging on the door.

Are you serious? JP could stand next to CD in the pre match line up, but for the remaining 95 minutes he'd either be offside or 30 yards behind. He's playing 2 leagues below us and has had a great career.

Good luck to John at York City.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
