FGR v Notts County: match forecast

County play 2nd game in Gloucestershire in five days, having drawn 1-1 at Cheltenham on Tuesday where Liam Noble was brought on as sub in 80th minute. He has made 11 appearances for County since he re-signed for club.

Earlier in season the FGR 1-1 away draw at Notts Co felt like The Green Army had dropped two points with a last gasp equaliser by then top-of-table County. That was the highest attended game [13,267] of entire EFL2 until quite recently.
FGR played extremely well during match and there were high expectations that team would continue to do well and establish themselves as a better than decent football league team. Unfortunately we crashed down to earth next game v Newport with worst home result of season. BUT we then went on that glorious run when FGR won four out of five league games and MC was short listed for Manager of Month.
FGR enter this game against County with higher expectations than last, not having lost a game since January.
Sky Bet have game down as a 1-1 draw.

Notts County
County are 12th in current form table [6 matches] with 8pts from 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses:
Barnet [l], Carlisle [w], Newport [d], Cambridge [l], Stevenage [w], Cheltenham [d]

They are 19th in current away form with 3 pts from 3 draws:
Swindon [l], Lincoln [d], Barnet [l], Newport [d], Cambridge [l], Cheltenhasm [d]

Key Statistics/Notts County
9 games conceding 2+ goals
6 games since an away win
4 games scoring 2+ away goals
5 games conceding 2+ away goals
4 away clean sheets this season
Sky Bet has forecast County to finish 4th position on final league table [top play-off place]

FGR
FGR are 5th in current form table with 3 wins, 2 draws and one loss.
Current home form has FGR 2nd with 15 points from five consecutive wins and one loss.

My forecast is a home win FGR 2-1 Notts County.

Tricky - Notts County are having a good season but there away form is markedly worse than their home form.

I can see a draw.

1-1

Going for a 1-0 win, although may depend whether CD is available.

Also go for 1-1 draw. Which I would happily take. Lets hope we can tighten up at the back again. Will be interesting what formation and personnel he will start if CD not available.

I'd be very tempted to go 4-3-3 against some these top of the table teams we have coming up. Three in central midfield, freeing up two wide players to support one striker.

FGR 2 - Notts 2. I'd be happy if we drew all of the next 3.

FGR 2 - 0 Notts County

South Stand goes into meltdown. Liam Noble cries himself to sleep with a bottle of Newcastle Brown.

2-1

Would take a draw, but if we can be tighter at the back, we can win this one.

About FGR

We’re a club that looks to the future, but our identity is forged from a rich 128-year history. Founded in 1889, we’re one of the oldest football clubs in the world.

In 2017, we were promoted to the Football League for the first time in our history – which means we can spread our sustainability message to an even bigger audience. FIFA recently described us as the greenest football club in the world. That’s quite an accolade, and it shows how we’ve been able to bring together football and environmental consciousness at the highest levels of the game.
